I like Langston Wilson a lot too, he can jump out of the gym, rebound, pass, dribble, and shoot. Doesn't hurt that he is 6'9 215 either.

This is a good highlight video of him.

We have a really good class, Bediako would be the icing on the cake.

That is an impressive video. I really like his aggression but he looks really thin and may get called for a few walks next year

He is pretty thin. He and Herb Jones are pretty similar size wise, Jones is 6'8 210 and Wilson is 6'9 215.

I may be Gumping a little, but I think Wilson would have been a top ~50 player as a high school senior if he had had a normal development track.

I think it's possible. Definitely would've been a top 100 guy imo.

I think he would be close to it.

If he can work on his shooting, like Herb has, he can be a monster.

Alabama, Georgetown, Louisville, Indiana, remain heavily involved with four-star junior and @DeMathaHoops guard Rodney Rice. He had a 20-point performance this weekend at the Chet Mason Invitational.

I just finished watching the game from the link you provided and he is extremely athletic but has a lot of work to do offensively to contribute. I think he will be an asset as a rebounder/rim protector but didn't look good on FT attempts (3-8) or anything else offensively other than dunks and put backs. I also noticed that he was raising his hand to come out before the 16 minute mark of the second half because he was gassed. I feel sure CNO will correct that quickly with our conditioning. I was really pumped after watching the clips CrimsonFever posted but dialing it back a bit after watching this game. And yes I know this is just one game.

Do we have a spot available for Nimari?

Honestly, it's hard to say.

Oats did reach out to him when he hit the portal, but it has been kind of quiet on our end since then while a couple other schools seem to be getting mentioned.

I think he's all in on Illinois. Which is fine if we get Wesley Cardet.

South Carolina has had tons of talent come through the state over the past few years.

That doesn’t stop now.

Blythewood’s Julian Phillips is currently ranked as the No. 1 player in the state and is ranked in the Top-30 incoming junior prospects in the country. Currently standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing in at 180 pounds, Phillips is a coaches' dream and is a major upside prospect.

I watched him at the Battle At The Rock (virtually) event recently and watched him earlier on in the year prior to the COVID-19 halt and he continues to dazzle and improve his overall game. His recruitment has also seen major leaps in the past few months.

He discussed that recruitment with Stockrisers.com.

Which schools are heavily involved?

“Ohio State, Florida State, Clemson, Alabama, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, and Arkansas are the schools talk to the most often that I have offers from.”

How about any newer schools to enter the picture?

“The newer schools that reached out to me closer to this time are North Carolina, Georgia, and Auburn.”

Let’s talk Florida State. Thoughts on the Seminoles and Coach Hamilton’s plan if you choose Florida State?

“I think the Seminoles have a great program along with great coaching staff. Their coaches are really focused and tuned in on winning and I think that has shown a lot this season. From what I’ve been told, if I chose their program, they would use my lengthy frame and versatility to the advantage.”

Alabama has been quite impressive this season. Have you been able to watch and what are your thoughts?

”I have been able to catch a few of their games and like you said they have been very impressive this year. I think they also have a great program and coaching staff, that’s probably been a big piece on their success this year.”

Those new programs interested, how serious of interest?

”I would say so. I talk to them each at least once, maybe even twice a week. It’s been great to talk to them and build on our relationship.”

You recently talked with Georgia’s Tom Crean, how’d that go?

”He reached out to me a few weeks ago. He asked me how my season was going and he was also telling me about the program. We have been in contact several times after as well, just building our relationship.”

How would you say your game has improved this season?

”I would say I’ve improved shooting the ball with more confidence. Also being able to get my teammates more involved. I’ve been trying to improve stepping up into more of a leadership role this season.”

Briefly, how would you best describe your game?

“I would break myself down as a versatile forward that can play both inside and out offensively, and is a good shot-blocker and rebounder.”

Does Charles Bediako fit Nate Oats and Alabama’s system? How do you see a JD Davison and Josh Primo backcourt working out? (Assuming Primo doesn’t turn pro)

quote:

Five-star big man Charles Bediako is not a stretch five-man who will spend time on the arch launching threes. But he can be an integral part of a team that emphasizes spreading the floor and shooting three-pointers.

Having an interior presence from a big man is an asset on both ends of the court for any teams. Ironically, offensively, it is likely more important for a high volume three-point shooting team to have a scoring threat down low. That threat creates more space for shooters on the outside. Plus, it is nice to have a player down there who grab some offensive rebounds.

So on face value it might look like Bediako doesn’t fit into the Alabama style of play, but in fact, he could be an critical asset in creating space for better three-point attempts as a scoring threat and as a screener and then there is also the need for rebounding.

As for a JD Davison and Josh Primo backcourt, that would be on heck of a dynamic duo back there. Davison loves to push the tempo, has blow by speed, sees the court and can deliver the pass. I liken him to Ja Morant. Primo is showing what he can do as a talented all around guard and would thrive with a dynamic playmaker like Davison as his backcourt mate.

Bediako can shoot good enough that you have to guard him if he is out at the three point line though. He would be a good fit for us.

quote:

"He's literally the ideal '5-man' in modern basketball because of his versatility," ISA head coach Dave Briski said.

Bediako was a raw talent when he arrived in the States, and experts believe there is still plenty of untapped potential.

Said Briski: "We had a lot of coaches in here his junior year evaluating him. And everybody kind of said the same thing: 'Really intriguing prospect, has a long way to go, but he's 6-11 and he runs and jumps.'

"Once everybody saw him that following April, then it was like a flood of suitors because they had seen the growth and development."

Bediako's biggest improvement was his outside shooting. Briski said Bediako was just under 40 percent from 3-point range on about 50 attempts last season.

"Because of his ability to shoot, he's developed into a real mismatch nightmare," Briski said.

Yeah, I think Bediako is a better outside shooter than Meyer is giving him credit for.

I don't think Meyer is very high on Bediako in general.
