Just now saw this, so I don’t think I posted it already.
Apparently we offered a 2021 SF from Florida named Ramses Melendez on November 3rd.
Not sure how serious of an offer this is right now. Hopefully it doesn’t mean bad news for Cardet, but it could potentially be a backup plan.

I agree. I know we've been recruiting him for a while, but I haven't seen Alabama mentioned with him enough to think he will choose us.

If we close out the class with Bediako and Cardet I will be very happy. I assume we get those two. Cardet is a top 50 player in this class easily imo, glad to see 247 moved him up to 54 recently, he should be higher.

"Individually I think I have been playing very well," Dunning said of the start to his season. "I have been set in a role, being a tall person on my team I have to play the five and clean up a lot of rebounds and just working on the offense that my coach tells me to. I feel like I have been more of a leader and working hard every single day."
The 6-foot-6 and 190-pound small forward out of Mobile (Ala.) McGill Toolen has spent months working on his game with the delay to the start of his season and specifically focused on three areas.
"I've been working on my three-point shot a lot," said Dunning. "Sometimes through our offense I might end up on the wing and I might have an open shot and I have to take it so I have been working on my three-point jumper and my ball-handling as well. I have also watched a lot of film and improving my IQ so when I step on the court I can see the right plays."
While he has been playing the five for his high school team, it has been a showcase of his versatility as Dunning is able to impact the game in a variety of ways.
"I am an all-around player, I'm not just a scorer, I feel like I can do it all," he described of his game. "I can rebound, I can shoot, I can dribble, I can make the best decision on the break. I feel like one of my best things is my mid-range shot and on the fast break is where I really showcase my skill. I just really do it all and I'm the type of person that gets the job done and just wins games."
Dunning has received offers from a range of programs based in the southeast but Dunning said there are four high major programs really prioritizing him.
"It's been going great," Dunning said of his recruitment. "Every school has been showing a lot of interest in me and I am very appreciative of that and grateful. I love every single coach that has recruited me and talked to me. It's been amazing."
"I would say Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss have really been prioritizing me," he added.
The four-star wing further added his thoughts on each of the four programs.
Alabama: "They let their guys play on the break. I feel like Alabama is at home, any time you stay in-state it's really home. I love the community there and I love coach [Nate] Oats, coach Charlie [Henry] and coach [Antoine] Pettway and all of them. They really do work hard. When I went there you had 24-hour access to the gym anytime. They had the No. 13 pick in the Draft, Kira Lewis. They came in and really changed the game and changed the whole program when they came in."
Arkansas: "I have been watching them play and I feel like I would fit in well with their offense. Coach [Eric] Musselman lets his guys play. I'm the type of person that will thrive in a fast break and he let's his guys go. It's an open offense with a lot of discipline, they play with a lot of energy, I just love how coach Musselman gets his guys ready to play each game. I just feel like Arkansas is a good place."
Auburn: "They love me. Wes Flanigan has really been recruiting me hard. Those guys are passionate. When I went there last year before covid when they played Kentucky, the fanbase was crazy, the atmosphere was incredible and just watching them play and seeing how involved coach [Bruce] Pearl and them were and how passionate they were about the game. They just wanted those guys to learn. Even on a bad play they will tell them what they did wrong and correct it and let them go out there and play and that really inspired me."
Ole Miss: "Ronnie Hamilton, they really focus on player development and they let their guys play and on the fast break they let their guys go. With Ole Miss I really do like how the head coach gets his team disciplined, how much they love the game. I recently watched them play and I just loved the whole game."
As eyes begin shifting to the 2022 class, Dunning is in no rush to cut a list and plans on taking his time with the process.
"I want to say that I want to take the two years I have to make the best decision," said Dunning. "I feel like around January or February or this time next year I will be ready."
While he is going to be thorough and well thought with his ultimate decision, he does know what things he will be looking for in a program.
"My dream is to go to the NBA so I want to go to a school that's going to prepare me mentally and physically but I am also a man with a plan B," said Dunning. "I maybe want to be an orthopedic doctor or something in the medical field as I get older in my career so I'm looking into the medical schools and that will be a big area."
Dunning is currently the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2022 Top150 and the No. 10 overall small forward in the class.

It’s not just potential with Phillips. Before his season was paused earlier this month, the four-star prospect started the season with three straight games going over 20 points in helping his team to a 2-1 record.
The 6-foot-7 versatile small forward has a recruitment that has him with well over a dozen scholarship offers. Among the schools hitting him the hardest right now are Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State and Wake Forest. Phillips also mentioned that North Carolina has come into the picture in the past couple months.
Alabama: “It’s a great basketball program with a great coaching staff. They like my game too and how can play multiple positions and defend different positions too.”
Clemson: “I took a visit to Clemson for a football game last season. They’ve always said they like how I play and how I play on both ends of the floor. They think I can help their program.”
Florida State: “I know they have a great history under Coach (Leonard) Hamilton. I talk to Coach (Steve) Smith a lot. He tells me my length and versatility can fit in nicely there and be one of the big, versatile forwards they play there.”
North Carolina: “I still don’t have an offer from North Carolina, but I do still talk to Coach (Steve) Robinson probably once a week. He usually calls me on Thursdays and calls it Tarheel Thursdays. He tells me about their program and how they run things there. I’m not sure if they are close. He told me coming into it that it wasn’t going to be a situation where they were going to offer right away. He said he wants to build a relationship and get to know me.”
Ohio State: “I think Ohio State is a great school. I think they have a good program and a good coaching staff. They’ve been telling me how my game can fit into their program with my versatility.”
Wake Forest: “I think it’s a really good new staff. Coach (B.J.) McKie is from South Carolina. It’s a great program too.”
RIVALS REACTION
Phillips mentioned that the pandemic and extended dead period has slowed down the recruiting process for him. He’s been unable to get out and see many of the schools recruiting him and that’s a big part of how he’ll ultimately pick a school.
Currently just outside of five-star range, don’t be surprised if his recruitment grows whenever his high school season resumes and into travel season. North Carolina has already started to lay the groundwork with him, but there is always the chance other blue blood programs and powerhouses around the country join them. Right now, he has no favorites and no timetable in mind for when a decision could come.

Bediako has had several chances to sign with us and thus far has not, Confidence level is very low. We better be looking at alternatives.
