Siap...
quote:

Jerry Meyer:

"Wilson can really run and is an explosive leaper. He is tough to stop around the rim when he gets a head of steam going. The long and lean lefty also has touch on his shot and is a threat from behind the arc. It will be interesting to see how he develops physically in the Alabama strength and conditioning program."

Travis Branham:

"Langston Wilson is an intriguing big man prospect with upside headed to Tuscaloosa. Physically, he is impressive. He stands 6-foot-9 with long arms and is a tremendous athlete so all the physical gifts are there.

Offensively, he is fairly raw but the southpaw has good hands and touch and with polish and development, he can become a threat in pick-and-pop situations knocking down mid-range jumpers or facing up and attacking the rim. In the pick-and-roll, given his size, length, athleticism, hands and touch he can make for an effective finisher and lob catcher around the rim.

On the defensive end of the floor is where he possesses his highest upside. Given his physical gifts, he can defend multiple positions, can switch on the perimeter, can protect the rim and rebound at a high level.

An area that he will greatly benefit from it getting in a college weight room and adding weight and strength. By getting stronger and polishing off his skillset, Wilson can be a versatile and effective tools for the Crimson Tide program."

Monday dish: A look at the top competitors for 2021's top class (247, Eric Bossi)
quote:

The opening of the early signing period is just over three weeks away and Florida State is currently in the top spot of the 2021 team rankings. Do the Seminoles have enough to hold off the pack and retain the lead through the early signing period? If not them, then who could catch or pass them? In this week’s Monday dish, a look -- in alphabetical order -- at the programs Leonard Hamilton and the Noles will most likely have to fight off.

ALABAMA

Current rank: No. 13

Committed: JD Davison, Jusaun Holt and Langston Wilson.

In play: Caleb Houstan, Charles Bediako, Wesley Cardet and others.

Analysis: Nate Oats and his staff have turned the Crimson Tide into a legitimate power on the recruiting trail. Davison is maybe the most electric player in the country, Holt is a dangerous two-way wing and Wilson is a junior college big with huge upside. The Tide doesn’t look to be done, though, and there’s a real shot that they could push for the No. 1 spot. Where the targets of other programs land can always change things, but if Bama can land Canadians Houstan and Bediako then there is a real possibility that they could have the top class in the land...

I look forward to the NCAA setting up shop in Tuscaloosa if we end up with the #1 class in basketball to go along with football

So how does signing the #1 basketball class in the country work in terms of shite-talking?

Do we go all LSU "we don't care what we did suck it bitches we're here" or do we low-key it and wait to actually win some games, maybe make the tournament?

I'm conflicted.

I'm comparing it to Saban's first few yrs here where in year 1 he had little time to recruit but still had a decent class. Bama finished with a 7-6 record. Then he had a full calendar yr to recruit & brought in the number 1 recruiting class full of stars. SEC West Champs with that class & the building block to many Natty Championships. Oats & his staff have now had a full calendar yr to recruit & we're seeing the results. Much like Saban the man is a recruiting monster & great closer. If we get these last few studs to finish in the top 3 in recruiting SEC Championships will probably happen & who knows maybe more. Shoot I wouldn't be surprised if we won the SEC this yr. These great high school juco players want to play in his uptempo system. So much credit goes to the assistants that have worked their tails off to bring in blue chip talent to T'town. Exciting fun times are on the way!!
