The biggest thing that concerns me about our bigs (or bigs that we bring in) is not how they fit Oats' offensive system, but what they can do defensively.

Reese anchoring our defense is sort of scary. Galin would be a little better at that, but he's not going to protect the rim and he doesn't move his feet very well. I have nothing but highlights to go on with Javian, but that doesn't look like his strength.

Hawkins at least looks longer and more athletic than what we have now, so it wouldn't shock me to see him starting. Granted, that's based off of literally one highlight video.

I'm firmly in the very optimistic big picture camp, but I think we'll probably struggle a bit defensively next year.

Spoken like a true "insider." Nice work. You got everyone's attention, but gave zero info, thus leaving the door open to claim, literally, anything good that happens "soon", which is an undefined time period.

Why are you thinking we’d go after another big? Oats said yesterday we have too many.

He also used the qualifier "expecting" rather than making a definitive prediction, which gives him the "the situation was so fluid it made water look like ice!" out if nothing good happens in the next few weeks.

Bolden?...or maybe they decided to move Coleman renovation to #1 priority on the Crimson Standard plan.

Going in a different direction, did anyone else notice all the mid-range shots (floaters, turn around jumpers, etc.) that were being taken by the teams in the Sweet-16?...interesting.

If you have YMCA Mens league MVPs like Ty Jerome, that's a good shot

More often than not though, it is a coaching/system failure.

He also gets hurt a lot. Avg 3 ppg/1 reb per game on 8 mins, and was a WVU bench guy.

This year he averaged 12.2ppg on 21mpg.

Shot 35% from 3, 41% from field, and 82% from the FT line.

Only played in 18 games due to injury.

I think Hawkins is ready to play right now. I see him playing about 25 minutes a game by conference play.
