All I can figure out is their system and style insists on max energy, effort and focus and when it isn't there they can lose to absolutely anybody. And they don't figure it all out unt conference play.
He is obviously a good coach in the grand scheme of things but would probably be much better suited at a big mid-major. Someone you wouldn't worry about in November or December but not want to see them in March if they made it.

Yep
I mean......Stetson. How the hell do you lose to Stetson?

Oats say anything about Reese and his injury after the game? I know he came back for a bit but he didn’t last long.
Despite what a few posters think IMO he is a pretty important cog in the wheel. He most certainly brought it tonight.

He's been great lately. He's figured out how to play to his strengths and Oats has put him in great spots.

Great win. Awbarn played very badly. They were due for a loss. But we are truly getting there with Oats. Kids are getting more and more comfortable with the system and Will be a force by the end of the season. If we get to the tournament, watch out top seeds.
But guys please please don't lose to Missouri. That will kill all our mojo.

Was great to see the Coliseum full tonight. See Bama what happens when you show up!
Need a full house Saturday.

I think Reese could develop into one of Bama's most dangerous players. He can guard a 5 and is a matchup nightmare for someone like Wiley. He forces a big to guard in space and opens the middle for Kira and Herb.
He can put it on the floor and finish. He is not limited like Galin to post up moves but he can play in space.
Herb is improving every game. He really is a swiss army knife. If he ever developed a consistent outside stroke he could be a first rounder.
Kira is hard to stay in front of but he needs to get stronger so that he can become a better finisher.
Shackleford shows flashes but he forces too many shots on his drives, takes too many bad shots trying to draw a foul.Hoping he matures quickly, lets the game come more to him.
Petty has improved in every area, and he and Herb are both killing it on defense. Petty has improved in every aspect of his game, passing, rebounding, defending, penetrating.
Our improved defense and reduced turnovers have given our guys confidence that they can play with anyone. We lack depth and have to stay out of foul trouble, If we can avoid injury, I think we can make the tourney and even make some noise in Oats first year.
Roll MF Tide!

Great win for @AlabamaMBB against the number 4 team in the country and rival. @nate_oats has made such an impact. They have been so close all year but tonight they went to a different level and so did @nate_oats. 83-64!!!
Jay Barker on Twitter. Oats should tell him to shove it

frick Jay. That mother fricker got pissed when we canned Avery.
Oh and I could have QB that team to a Natty Jay so you really didn’t/haven’t done shite.

I know it's early but do some of you think we might have a special coach in Oats? I mean the guy can flat out coach.Time will tell...
I do. We are missed free throws and two big blown leads away from being a top 25 team.
Our record isn't good but we are a huge threat and have been so consistently lately.
Oats is fantastic

I got home late from the game last night, but that place was ELECTRIC. Best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. What a win!

3 straight games now where we haven’t put up 30 3’s like Oats wants. And 2 straight where we haven’t shot it well from 3. That’s gotta get fixed

Like beating the defending national champions?
Posted on 1/16/20 at 7:10 am to mistaken4193
Conversely, they managed to stay competitive with UK in Rupp and beat Auburn last night despite not playing their best. They are getting comfortable running a motion offense but that doesn't mean it has become muscle memory for them yet. It's still a work in progress for sure, but they have made huge strides since the Bahamas. This might as well be a different team than the one that lost to Iowa State.

No, like by following it up by losing to #325 Stetson

Up to #44 in the NET rankings.
Posted on 1/16/20 at 7:31 am to pvilleguru
#44 on KenPom is the highest (comparing to season ending rankings) ranking we have had since 2012 (#27) and before that 2005 (#18).
