Means teams can’t try to scheme against one or the other

This is what we needed out of them. It takes pressure off the DL line and allow them to do their job. But the issues is when one of them get caught in pass coverage.

I’d argue it’s the opposite. The DL and ILBs hold up at the point of attack better so it allows the playmaker positions to make plays.

Having Braswell on Squirrell White was kind of nuts but to be fair, he was supposed to have had help from the safeties but clearly didn't. I could maybe see him on a TE (other than Brock Bowers) but against most WRs, it's a mismatch.

They came well prepared to attack a 3-3 front with a QB spy by using 3x1 WR alignments. They were aiming to get the innermost receiving option on the trips side matched up on a backer then go vertical.

Our staff wanted to go odd front with the QB spy to free up the spying linebacker from having contentions with gap responsibilities on run plays. The other side has well paid coaches and a fleet of analysts too. They were well prepared to attack our spy defensive approach.

We essentially had to scrap it because Steele was not going to let Heupel abuse them by conceding the interior mismatches all game like Golding. They went to even fronts with 5 man pressures to try to keep Milton in the pocket.
