Said something similar to this in the in-game thread and got blasted. He was a little off yesterday and it almost seemed (and this is totally conjecture and my opinion, I admit) that he was a bit uninterested and just going through the motions, wanting to get the W and move on. In other words, he didn't seem to be into that game mentally. He's a college kid and there could be myriad reasons for that and it didn't matter as we destroyed A&M. It was just an observation but considering how things went south last year at some point in Oct-Nov, it's something to keep an eye on. We don't need Tua developing bad habits as he's really the only thing standing between Bama and a disappointing finish. The defense and running game aren't good enough this year to bail us out if Tua has a bad game against a good team.

That's the way I saw it as well.

When our punt return and kickoff return are having us in short field positions all game long.... that helps.

- Our OL played well.
- Our RBs played well.
- Our WRs made big time plays.

We could have been even better.

There is nothing wrong with pointing out mistakes and I hope/know Saban will be doing that instead of the kool aid and rat poision.

A&M wasn't doing anything that fancy and their defense back was against the wall damn near every drive.

He just either didn't see zone or didn't read at all like last year.

The guys got 2000 yards passing and ONE pick. Seriously?

So he missed some reads. Henry missed some holes, JK Scott shanked some punts, Jeudy dropped some passes. It happens.

We still tore the aggies a new one and as we like to say in BamaLand, "we whipped their azz on their own grass."

We don't have to be perfect to win the NC. That's not what happened to us last season.

He didn't have his greatest game. I think we all recognize that. We still put up 40+ against a defense that held Auburn and Clemson in check. I'll take it.

If your concerns are warranted, well...there's not much we can do about it because it's not like we have anyone else waiting in the wings behind him. What we have is what we have.

Dude you’re really fired up this morning. Maybe go take a walk or something and take a few deep breaths, it’s nice outside.

He did a fantastic job of checking down to the RBs, especially in the second half.

I am speaking about this game. Not the rest.

If you're going to personalize my valid criticism of Tua's performance for one game and make it some emotional thing, I won't bother responding to your posts.

You are the one talking about "the one pick." I'm trying to provide some balance. I mentioned others who have had bad plays, bad days, bad games. No reply?

Steph Curry had days he couldn't buy a 3-pointer, he's still the best shooter in the NBA when he gets out of the shower.

For some reason, Tua doesn't get that same allowance. If I thought he was in bad habits I'd probably be the first to say it. And I'm sure I'd be right there with you.

I never mentioned the pick even once.

You're not even reading my post just reacting emotionally and ignorantly because I am constructively criticizing Tua.

The irony is if you guys think Saban isn't doing the same thing you're foolish.

You focus on what you don't do right in order to stay hungry and get better.

You are a hard man to make happy. You spent a paragraph explaining what Jeudy saw and Tua didn't on the goal line. Assuming you were discussing the pick really isn't a reach.

Coach Saban is great at getting the guys not to eat the "rat poison" and he's got a master's in football awareness. He's on it.

Let's just hope our DC has half as much awareness on the other side of the ball going forward. Now, that's scary.

what concerns me is we will be facing much better D's then TAMU going forward. AU, LSU and then UF or UGA

A&M is the 2nd best defense Bama will play in the regular season, only behind Auburn.

LSU's defense is worst then Bama's.

I don't think Florida has a elite defense. Before playing LSU, they played no offense with a pulse. That is why they had great stats on defense. They had played 2 FCS teams, Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn and Miami. Those offenses are pretty awful.

Georgia has a good defense, but a good QB will always make plays on that defense. We saw it time and time again while he was at Bama.

Auburn has a good DL, but weak secondary. If Tua has time, he will light them up again this year.

It isn't. Being a negative, self righteous, condescending douchebag is. That is what you are, and that is why people don't like you or your opinions.

It's amazing the meltdown that I see on here after every win thus far. I can't imagine how it'll be God forbid we lose a game. It'll be like the apocalypse.

Florida is not as good as Alabama. Not even close. Their offense certainly isn't as good and I agree that their defense is not as great as the media wants us to believe. They should've lost to Miami and Kentucky.

What is this "I'm sure Saban saw it" stuff?

Well yea, I'm guessing at no point does Saban walk in and say "Well gents that was the perfect game we have nothing to work on!". That's his damn job.

But from a fan perspective it was a pretty solid ballgame. I'm not a coach, I don't have to dwell on every single negative thing. I'm allowed to watch something and summise that it was a pretty solid effort without dwelling on every small issue and pointing out how it has to be fixed and if it doesn't we're toast.

Being a fan means looking around and realizing we're playing pretty well and undefeated and have some warts and understanding all of it. Being a fan also means I don't have to treat every very small problem like it's the end of the world and can enjoy watching a fun and very good football team, knowing that there are alternatives that are way way way way frickin worse - and remembering what those way worse alternatives feel like from the stands.

THAT'S THEIR JOB - THEY ARE COACHES.
THEY POINT OUT FAULTS AFTER EVERY GAME NO MATTER HOW PERFECT IT WENT

Look I'm all for ranting about things that are bad or discussing things that could get us later on, but come on now, this is ridiculous.

Tua didn't have a great game and he needs to focus more and do better. If he does we can beat anybody.

Period.

He's going to have less than perfect games. It's fine to point out this was one of them but to act like it was because he wasn't focused or didn't take it seriously or whatever it is we're saying here is silly. It was a good not great game. Period.

I don't watch games from a fan persepctive. I analize what I see, break it down and look for solutions. I also think about future matchups, weak points, etc.

The irony of this even if many would not admit it is, I have broken down many of things over the years here and I have been right far more than wrong.

Yet the response initially is always the same.... then when it's glaring people stop insulting me and start actually discussing the issue.

The sad part about this is, I never insulted anyone. I'm huge on Tua. All I did was point out mistakes and say we need him to clean it up and focus more in the bigger games and look how I have been attacked?

People here don't want a different perspective. They don't want truth. That much I see is certain.
