Really only two weeks, because Tua has to practice for the LSU game. Saban rarely plays players that don't practice by Wednesday of game week.
The injury bug has done so much damage to Bama since the 16 season, might have delivered the death blow to Bama's playoff hopes this year.

I'm pretty sure that Tua will play if he can, whether or not he practices by that Wednesday, and would be the best quarterback on the team (and nearly every team in college football) even if he isn't 100%

If it's a "bad one" then the sprain I had a few years ago must have been the worst in the history of the world. Dude was still in the game, and was barely limping going back to the locker room. I wouldn't have even noticed he was limping if I hadn't known he was injured.

Yea this whole thing is confusing. It just dosent seem to be as bad as last year with Jalen or Tuas injury! And media outlets are reporting a very serious sprain while saban says two weeks.

This reminds me of that episode of "Coach" where the star player suffers an injury and can't play in their rivalry game.
He's on the sideline in a wheelchair the entire game until the 4th quarter and he goes in to win the game.
He wasn't even hurt.

And we got our guest, tales, asking us on his first post in this thread "how we feel about this"

If we were to get passed LSU could we sit Tua until Auburn

I think Saban said 1-2 weeks before they knew the extent. They went and did a MRI Sunday morning and realized it was worse than previously thought and decided on surgery which realistically he won't be 100% for about a month. That's my opinion no insider here so don't bash me

Agreed. It's just dishonest to say he had a BAD high ankle sprain. No way in hell he's walking around like he was if it's that bad. I've hurt mine enough to know that after you get the shoe and tape off and you sit then try to get back on it, the pain is too severe to be walking around like he was in the locker room after the game.

Nick saban saban expects a speedy recovery so,what the hell does that mean lol

Not talking about Saban. I'm talking about whoever told Boz it was bad. Im sure he hurt it but not as bad as some people are saying.
Im sure the surgery is more for prevention down the road.

He wants LSU to prep for Tua so we can set a a game plan that revolves around Slade Bolden running the short side option

Yea that may keep us within 2 touchdowns. Reality is without Tua we lose that game. Schemes and faith in a back up qb sounds good for motivation but in reality there's no chance without Tua. Let's be real

This. I suffered what the doctor told me was a grade 2 sprain in college during a basketball game at the rec and I couldn't put any weight on it at all immediately afterwards. Then I was in a walking boot for a few weeks. While celebrating 2nd and 26 my drunk arse rolled my ankle and the doctor told me it was a grade 1 sprain, wrote me a prescription for the 800mg ibuprofen, and told me to go easy on it and keep it elevated and iced whenever I could for a few days. I was able to walk with a limp, and it did hurt, but I was walking without a limp in a week and my ankle didnt hurt anymore after 10-15 days. That is why this all confuses me. Tua stayed in the game for another play, and while he was limping a bit he was putting weight on that leg and did not appear to be in any serious pain. If it was anything like what happened to me in college he would have needed help just to get back up, much less get off the field and back to the locker room. If it was more like what happened to me last January then why make him have a surgical procedure to fix something that will heal on it's own in a week or two?

He was also smoking a cigar and dicking around in the locker room after the game. Something feels a bit off

What was the whole ambulance thing about? It was the shortest hospital visit ever

Our imagining equipment is at the football complex, not the stadium. People just assumed ambulance meant hospital, but he probably just went to the Mal.

I keep coming back to this line of thinking. It just didn’t seem that bad. So, conspiracy theorist in me has two thoughts. First, he had a prior existing injury that occurred earlier in the season and Tua was on pain meds. So, he exacerbated the injury but the meds were helping with the pain. I think that would explain why everyone with sauce is saying “bad sprain.” Second, it wasn’t that bad of an injury and misinformation is being put out about the injury. Tua was injured but not that bad. This allows Saban to see if there are any leaks in the organization (done it before) and make LSU prepare for two QB’s. I will take off my tin hat and stop channeling my inner LSU conspiracy theory spirit.

I'm damned glad I don't share a foxhole with you. Do you cave at the first sign of adversity in everything in your life?
