Anyone who has ever had a job, or atleast I know it’s been like this for me, or played high school sports for that matter can probably attest to this.
When I was in high school I was a decent basketball player, but it wasn’t until I was away from the game for a while and then started playing again(rec league) before I felt like it all clicked for me mentally.
Things like, looking for quick cuts to the goal consistently or the importance of finding the mismatch, or when to be aggressive and when to backoff. Simple stuff really but could make all the difference in a game.
Kinda the same with a job. Anyone who has ever had to be a mananger of any sort, or just any new job, knows the first time you dive in and you just do your best and hope for the best. Learn as you go basically. But after a vacation or a extended amount of time away from it can allow you to see things differently and allows you to come back fresh. It can really help you grow and take on even more than you thought from the beginning.
I say all that to say, maybe the same could happen for Hurts.
Say Tua starts, and mid season starts to struggle once defenses get some tape on him and can prepare better. Or gets hurt. And Saban decides to give Hurts another go, and after having time away from the pressures of being the starter everything starts to click for him mentally.
Then Hurts goes on to win it all for us. I think it’s a possibility.
The media try’s to act like our situation is a bad thing but honestly we are so lucky to have two really good QB’s.
So let’s try to see our “problem” as a blessing and get behind both these guys. Hurts has earned that much I believe.
Stay positive and Roll Tide guys!!!!

That's possible, plus don't sleep on Mac Jones. The kid showed a tremendous amount of potential during the spring.

This topic needed another thread.

Just trying to put a little positive twist on the subject.

Maybe, but the back shoulder throw he made to win the NCG isn't anything you can game plan against. That's an NFL top-tier QB throw.
Point being is that time will tell all, but Tua is a much better quarterback than Jalen. Jalen has shown no signs of progressing as a QB since he got to Alabama. He's slowly regressed each year as a passer.

don't leave your day job and become an analyst.

If, after two years of trying, I still struggle with the basic duties of my job, I probably need to consider a new career.

The same Mac Jones who struggled in the scrimmage?

Other reports say Mac played pretty well in the scrimmage. I'd be careful of the opinion of some of our resident insider QB gurus.
Word is that third-string quarterback Mac Jones looked good. He had at least one touchdown pass.

Dang man. I didn't realize I was going to need to take a food break to get through that marathon post. And that's coming from a guy who can, admittedly, be a bit verbose in my posting.

He played average at best and his 1 TD was a terrible pass tipped which the receiver made an amazing play on. I’d be careful about talking about things you didn’t see while secretly referencing me.

Ok, I'll rephrase:
Boz, who was dead wrong for two straight years about Jalen Hurts' abilities, says Mac played very poorly. Other reports say Mac played pretty well. You guys choose who you believe.

I hear ya, but a really trusted insider I listen to said Mac didn't have a great scrimmage. He said Jalen is the clear #2 right now, but he also has been saying since the spring that Tua and Jalen are so far apart it's ridiculous. Tua is in a league by himself
He was asked "So we hear for Jalen it was two thumbs down, and Tua it was two thumbs up"
He said, "That's an understatement. Tua is looking like an NFL QB. He was putting perfect passes all over the field. Jalen threw 3 picks and didn't lead the offense to a single TD.

That's all fine. I actually didn't even reference Boz in my first post. I've just seen it posted here that Mac supposedly didn't play well, and people seem to be running with that, much like they did with the whole "turnover machine" narrative. I'm just saying, some folks said Mac played well.

Not wrong just knew it would be a certain way until it was all on the line. It all worked out though.

I think you're confusing Boz's opinions with actual information. As far as I remember, Boz's info has been mostly spot-on.

You do realize, don't you, that Jalen Hurts, while not being a very good passer, would still be the quarter back at the nation's premier football program this year if not for the concurrent presence of a once in a generation quarterback? Tua is not just some run of the mill QB. He is beyond elite. There are any number of top programs around the country who would kill to have Jalen Hurts as their QB right now.
