Announcement of HT and Dale returning and you can really start to see the defense for next year taking shape.

Any Bama fan who denigrates a guy who on the way out who earned his degree and busted his arse and likely maximized his potential playing for this program is probably a douchebag. Apologies if you are an exception to this rule.

I'd imagine it's more that he knows some of the young guys are going to be ready next year, he's already accomplished all he can in college, and it's just time to move on to the next stage of life.

He really became a leader this year. And a hell of a safety. Would love one more year of him but he seems NFL ready. Seems like he is at least 2nd round right now.

Saban needs to go get Harris and Metchie some NIL deals that will pay them more than their 1st year in the NFL would

The guy is a horrible playcaller. His best plays usually were the scripted ones he started the game with after which he would never revisit.

We scored 24 points in 2nd quarter against UGA long after the scripted plays had been run…

As for the CFPCG, if we don’t have the key drops (2 by Hall, 1 by Latu, and 1 by Brooks) and the slip by Billingsley on a wide open route, his play-calling would instantly look better. Drops happen and I think our young receivers will learn from it, but those aren’t on Bob…

He’s no Sark but Bama finished as #7 in total offense and #6 in scoring offense; horrendous OCs just don’t finish that high…

He's not going to magically become 6'3". He's not going to magically run a 4.2 tomorrow. He has a master's degree and a bunch of rings. College is supposed to get you ready for your career. Whether he gets paid for playing football or in the business world, it's time.

Edited to add: Bama prepared him better than anyone else. With his attributes he was always going to have to play special teams to make a roster. Bama played him literally on every special team in his career. It is what it is as far as his chances. Coming back for a year or two wasn’t going to make him a first rounder.

Per Chris Low, ESPN

- Metchie to NFL

- Battle to return

quote:

Not a huge surprise, but told John Metchie will join Jameson Williams in entering the NFL draft. Both suffered torn ACL injuries late in the season and combined for 23 TD catches. Good news for @AlabamaFTBL is that safety Jordan Battle is expected to return next season.

If we get Battle back then Golding has no excuse for a shitty start. That defense should be elite from the 1st snap

Yes because our QB is that good.

BTW, it isn't like BOB doesn't ever make a good call. However he's coaching Alabama not a high school so he needs to be good at improvisation, creativity, etc.

He sucks at all of that.
