If we continue forward with a S&C coach that couldn't even build a Big Ten title contender, we will watch this program bleed out in the next 2 to 3 years.

Definitely need to change the s&c program to match the culture of brutal physical dominance that we want to instill.

Not sure Moffitt is the only option to achieve that, though.

Y’all need to make your mind up. That style caused injuries. Remember?

I never wanted to move away from it.

1) Stop ascribing the thoughts and comments of one group of bama fans to another group of bama fans

2) people can realize after the fact that this didn't work out they way they expected and want to go back.

How has the shift not worked out? Can someone actually explain that? You want to shift back against the stream now? And hire a former strength coach that’s self employed now?

I never said I wanted Moffitt specifically. That was op. You're doing it again

But yes I want to go back. Not saying we can't have an explosive, dynamic offense - a focus on physically dominating opponents doesn't preclude that. But it takes the right guys and program culture to get the best of both.

anyone that can't see how bama went from pushing teams around to getting pushed around, is blind or has crimson glasses sewn over their eyes, sheesh

That's fair. He's just the most available and familiar with Saban's core philosophy. I personally don't want anymore "projects". Get some proven people in this building.

Yeah. So said all of this board's internet sports medicine specialists.

I for one never wanted Cochran to leave and think Saban should have given him a chance to do S&C and ST together. ST usually isn't its own position anyway. Our special teams have also been shite. When was the last time we started past the 25 on a kickoff?

The "make their arse quit" mentality we had can be just as much be attributed to Cochran as Saban. The 4th quarter program was his program. As Barrett Jones used to say, being able to look across the line into their eyes and see that they didn't want any more. The mentality, also as Jones said, of preferring to play in front of 100,000 hostile fans rather than at home and feeding off that hostility...instead of being "anxious". Cochran had a lot to do with that.

I'm on board with shedding the program of BoB. He's a complete disaster. Wasted talent game after game with zero innovation or scheme. The IB was the first game of the year he even looked to have prepared to play.

Pete is also a disaster. He may be a fricking savant, but it doesn't translate to the players. They need a teacher, coach, and mentor that can make the scheme make sense on their level and utilize their talent

But, now, we're jumping on the S&C coaches? Give me a fricking break.

It was a down year that ended up 5th in the CFP final poll. Cry me a river. Some have unreasonable expectations. It's sad.

Did Bama underachieve, most likely. Is the program dead and buried as some believe, hardly.

Sack up. This is the same thinking that almost ran off Coach Bryant in the late 60s.

Go back and watch a 2016 game then watch a 2021 or 2022 game. We get pushed around like an average SEC team now. We just so happen to have Bryce Young.

I guess the rest of us won't see it til it's too late.

They track every metric of each player's S&C in great detail. From what's reported, the overall strength and speed for about everyone has increased. If that's true, then maybe it's more the energy and drive that Cochran brought that we're missing.

Bring back Wilson Love. Played for Saban, was groomed by Cochran. Is very weird but tons of energy.

Doesn't mean much without knowing their starting metrics though. SEC Network published Anderson's stats as having "a 40% increase in upper body power, and a 30% increase in upper body rate of developement". It sounds really cool, but I miss the functional reports like Landon Dickerson's 750lb squat back in 2020.

I'm ok with the nerds using all the science to increase performance, etc. I think what you need is someone (like Cochran) to pump up and fire up the guys. SC guys get to spend a lot of time with the team, especially during the off season. It is the head game we need to get back. Creating swagger and a general air of cockiness.

Yeah, Scott Cochran’s departure just so happens to coincide too with Georgia’s physical domination. Kirby knew what he was doing.

The S&C program isn't our issue.

Also Scott Cochran is what? 1-5 against us?
