He could go to the NFL combine and crush it there. I’ve seen tons of guys who either didn’t do much in their college career or played at some FCS school but really made an impression on the scouts there and really helped their stock.
Not saying he WILL do that but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

Fourth round draft pick, maybe worse,
I don’t see it. Jalen Milroe was a third rounder and couldn’t read a defense or throw the ball with any accuracy. Ty would likely be a second rounder at worst. NFL teams love picking QBs.

Literally no one. Ty isn’t good enough for trolls from other teams to hate him, and no Bama fans hate the guy.
A number of people feel like we may have better options on the shelf, we don’t, so they want to move on.
Ty was flawed. He also face some tough scenarios, considering his team could run the football. There was a lot of pressure on him, in more than one sense.

He needs to go and get better coaching.

I think it’s best he move on. He seems like a good kid and he flashed greatness. Maybe a change of scenery will do him good. We’ve got a few posters here who have a pathological hatred of the guy but I wish him well and hope finds what he’s looking for.
UGA also thought it was wise to move on from Beck and one of them is still playing. Going with first year starters at QB year after year is a recipe for disaster in this portal world.
If I’m remembering correctly, all 1st year college starters got knocked out of the playoffs already (Bama, UGA, OSU, etc.) and only experienced starters are left (Mendoza, Oregon’s started 9 games as a freshman at UCLA before redshirting at Oregon his sophomore year, believe Chambliss won a championship at a lower level, and Beck). Ty coming back is our best chance of success next year and if he doesn’t come back, it’s a rebuilding year.

Yeah, but that was an incredibly stupid pick.

Ty Simpson’s family reunion in this thread.

I believe that was based from a troll account on twitter... and Tom just ran with it.

I assure you Mrs. Simpson nobody hates Ty.

If he goes somewhere else and performs better than here, that would be quite the indictment on our “offensive guru’s.”

So you're saying better coaching and he'd be great... I think that's what several of us been saying.
So how many times did Grubb & CKD say Ty just needed to “let it rip”? You think they were coaching him to pat the ball multiple times and to take sack fumbles repeatedly? How many times did he have someone wide open and completely miss the throw or throw it to the guy late so that the WR couldn’t get any YAC? It’s so easy and lazy to blame it on the OL completely as well. They didn’t help him but he didn’t help them either with the fact that he pats the ball multiple times and waits for guys to get open before he lets it rip instead of throwing them open. Bryce Young had a much worse OL in front of him and he still diced people up.
Ty is a great representative of the University but holy shite some of yall act like he was Mac Jones in 2020 dicing people up.

Maybe so.
He also says that Cam Coleman and Hollywood Smothers, the RB from NC State, are set to visit Tuscaloosa.

Or he stayed healthy. Or he did what almost all QBs do in their 2nd year of starting.

Couldn’t agree more. Look at the number of average but very experienced QBs who have carried their teams on playoff runs. Ewers, Leonard, Howard, just to name a few. 4/5 years of college experience is valuable to a team.

Sounds like a 1st year starter

And that’s why the FSU game is excusable.. but he’s been in CFB for four years so at this point he is what he is.

That’s just not how experience works, especially for QBs.
You get a little better sitting the bench another year and going through practices, but you have to play in actual games to get game experience at QB.
