Stop going to the games? Send all that game day money not to UA but directly into NIL. The university can’t put money directly into NIL so helping it isn’t exactly a direct way to “fund” the team anymore. Sure supporting the team and going to games are important but if 45k people stayed home every week and put whatever they would have spent directly into NIL what would that buy you? If you got 2-3 additional elite players per year that could be a game changer at the end of the year. Crazy game has come down to who’s got the biggest war fund.

I think a half empty stadium would hurt the team as well.

I spend enough money as it is going to games. I'm not going to give money to pay 18-19 year olds directly. If I don't go to away games anymore (something I'm contemplating) then I'm going to use that money on my family, not adding .5% to the income of a college athlete that will make more money than me.

I mean, imagine the Chiefs asking fans to pay for Patrick Mahomes' contract directly?

Alabama’s problem is not NIL funding. They’re at the top and the very top (Horn and Aggy) is not attainable by any of the other blue bloods.

Who is going to fund maintaining all these facilities and pay players as well.

That BB arena is a dream.

How about just envelops on seats and receptacles near gates. That's half a mill a game at 5 bucks a patron.

Just raise his salary every year.

Hell Cameron Arena was built in 1940. Even added A/C in 2002.

It's not the arrows, it's the Indian's.

Completely understand people not wanting to pay their hard earned money to an NIL collective.

That said, I think you lose the right to complain about lack of success that’s directly impacted by a relatively lacking NIL collective. That starts with recruiting and transfers over to games.

Our fanbase is in the millions. If you took the capacity of Bryant Denny and had those people contribute $10 a month, that’s over 12 million a year. That obviously doesn’t even factor those that pay more and in some cases substantially more.

This is new territory for our middle class fanbase. Most haven’t contributed because we haven’t had to. FSU saw their membership jump 10x after the playoff “snub” and most are just contributing a few dollars. It adds up though. I’d never question someone’s fandom if they didn’t contribute, but at the same time I spend more than that in a day on vices if I really break it down and average it out. Many of us are probably paying that for a streaming service or gym membership or magazine subscription we barely use. If you aren’t going to add an additional expense, maybe look at your current expenses and consider reallocating. More money isn’t going to hurt the program, and until we get some guardrails on this, this is the world we’re operating in.

Not sure if it is true, but I thought someone posted in Oxford, the restaurants ask if you want to round up on your bill to donate to the NIL. It seems like a simple yet genius idea. Could offset some cost.

NIL wasn't intended to be a collective of rich boosters paying players. It was intended to allow athletes to get paid from doing ads and making appearances locally and nationally. It has been twisted and basically put fans at a disadvantage because we have to basically enter an auction to get players. Long run, the players will lose because too many fans with money are going to choose to do other things with their Saturdays.

Agree completely. Its intention and what it is are two different things though and it was always, always leading to this.

OK

85 players receiving 4,000 per month= 340,000

1,000 for new car and car insurance
1,000 for taxes
2,000 for spending (30 day average cash per day is 66.00)

Total cost for Bama for one year 4,080,000

I feel like the we’ve seen less big facility projects announced nationwide since NIL got going.
