So is it looking like Scott will be punting and kicking field goals this season?

Probably the only way Alabama has a shot to be be consistent on FGs. It's as bad as I can remember our kicking situation.

I would think so. The new kid has a strong leg he just kicks it low. Pap is just not that great.

All the Bama podcast I follow seem to think it's JK or bust.

I really don't understand what is hard about kicking fg's.

I haven't been going the last couple years, but I used to go to the park in the fall, and kick fg's from 30yds out no problem. I don't understand the inability to find an athlete in his prime who can kick a fg when you have the entire country to choose from.

Hell have an open tryout like leach did years ago at Texas tech... Kid out of the student section won the job, and was a big improvement over their previous kicker who was awful.

Kicking is probably the hardest to project from high school to college. It's boom or bust. And Alabama busts a lot.

I proposed this earlier. I'd even help with the tryouts picking up errant tries.
You are correct. Out of 30,000+ students, there's bound to be one that can kick reliably from 30 yards or so.
No scholarship, he'd be happy just to get free meals on game days.

That's a boss right there. If he want a fricking Icee, he gets a freaking Icee. If a few dozen press types have to wait for the guy to get back from the 7-11 before the presser starts, that's just too damned bad.

He needs an icee machine in his office. I don't think that's asking too much for the poor guy.

I've been inside the program many years and still can't figure this out. Auburn gets an amazing set of kickers, FSU does and then gets his brother. Where the hell is a family we can tap into for kickers! I blame The Tiffins for this, have more kids.

Our last 3 kicker commits decommited at the last hour which has killed us. Pierno, Ruiz and some kid that went to UGA. That left us scrambling for guys we didn't really want including this new kid we stole from GT who apparently sucks. Seems like we could find a grad transfer or something. Hell, go find a local club soccer team and let them try out.

At this point, I'd be willing to take about anyone. Surely some decent kicker would like to kick on the best team in America?

Turns out Ridley was fighting with R Davis and took a shot at his knee. He got pulled immediately.

Ridley was fighting Raekwon Davis?

I dont think I could find a bigger mismatch on the whole team, outside of the kickers.
