Trilly’s update today had a blurb on Reid saying we are the leader followed by UGA and then FSU. He said a decision is expected this week.

Is that what this is from?

ETA: never mind, I just checked burner ball and that is where it is from. Alabama was also mentioned in these blurbs below.

Edgecombe’s recruitment is a more wide open than the other two. Alabama and Florida State are set to host him in the next few weeks.

Newell wrapped up his visits and is close to making a decision. Georgia is still the team to beat, but that hasn’t stopped everyone else from giving up. Look for a prediction on the site later this week.

Every school that has hosted Zoom Diallo feels like they have a shot and Arizona is no different. It wouldn’t shock us if Diallo took more visits or announced his decision tomorrow.

Top-20 prospect Derrion Reid officially visited #Alabama over the weekend.
He spoke with BOL about that experience, time with the coaches and players, and more.

Anybody want to help us out with this one?

Five-Star Plus+ PF Asa Newell
The Buzz: This is one we have been following pretty closely for a while, and Georgia was always a school sources told me was in the mix for Asa Newell. Throughout the process, programs like Gonzaga, Texas, and Alabama each made inroads. At the end of the day, a source tells me that barring anything unforeseen to expect Newell to commit to Mike White and the Bulldogs. Continue to watch for a commitment date. It has been a fluid ride for Georgia to this point, so it is worth monitoring if anything else comes up.
Four-Star SF Derrion Reid
The Buzz: Derrion Reid is down to three schools. Georgia, Florida State, and Alabama each made the cut. Reid previously took official visits to Florida State and Georgia. He visited Alabama this weekend. One source recently told me they liked Alabama’s chances. With officials done to each of his top three, another source said they expect this one to be a Florida State and Georgia battle. Continue to monitor this one as I am told it is not over yet. A decision could come as soon as this weekend.

Where are those from? Not exactly encouraging updates. Reid a Florida St. and Georgia battle? I don’t buy it.

Ok I understand losing recruits to Duke UK, Arkansas or any other school who r prioritizes basketball in NIL but to lose them to UGA because of NIL is fricking unacceptable

Trilly updated his site with predictions of Newell to Georgia and Reid to Bama.

He's from Athens and his brother is a walk on in the UGA basketball team. I'm pretty certain NIL isn't the issue.

Shame about Newell. He's about to go the GG Jackson route by letting his family push him to a dumpster fire of a program even though he could have gone literally anywhere he wanted.
Are we seriously in it for anyone else? Richmond is presumably a heavy UK lean, Diallo is staying out West, and I bet Edgecombe goes the G-League, OTE, NBL route.

Hate to lose out on Newell but his decision at least makes sense. Losing Reid to UGA would make zero sense.

I mean Reid and Sherrill are still two great gets. Not gonna be the class we thought it might be but those are still two good gets. Just have to hit the portal hard again. We are going to need several guards though.

If we have to pick and choose where we get HS kids and where we go portal shopping I'd take the 2 long bigs with guard like skills from the high school ranks and a PG from the portal all day every day. Can't usually find guys like Sherrell and Reid in the portal (Nelson excluded). You can find guards that fit.

It would make a cunthair of sense. He's originally from near Augusta area. That's the only reason they're in it to begin with.

The only other guy I know of would be Amier Ali, but i'm not sure if we actually have him classified as a take. Could be someone we push for more after missing on Jase, Betsey and Newell and assuming we can't get Richmond.
Ali isn't a scrub though. #62 overall in the 247C with good size. I just don't know much about his playing style.
4* Amier Ali | 6’8” 175 lbs | #62 overall | #17 SF | 247

TIFWIW a couple days ago MAC stated we are still in it for Richmond. This was after his visit.

How many open scholarships will we have after this season anyway? Like who are the guys that are for sure gone?

Estrada
Nelson
Pringle
Sears
I think those are all certain.
