Lot of coaches/players have. I have in the past. I think its good for lower grades getting to learn the game and understanding everything.
At the high school level, I absolutely hate it. Saw a team play 6 games in a single day a few weeks ago. It was ridiculous.

Leonard Miller at 33. That’s a good pick for the Spurs. It was gonna be a good draft for them no matter what because of Wemby but Miller is another solid pick

Clowney didnt play aau
He did, but it was a tiny team that wasn't sponsored by one of the shoe companies. Which is apparently highly unusual for a player of his caliber, and supposedly is one of the reasons he went somewhat under the radar as a recruit.

And Chuck goes Undrafted.

Man, if he were back, we would legitimately be a top 3 team right now. Really hope we find out why he left one day. Though I'm sure it will be a while.

If you are good enough, someone will notice you.
But with everything else, I do hate AAU to a certain degree.

People have alluded to the fact that he can't legally sign NIL deals in the U.S. because he's here on a student visa, but honestly the only way that would make sense to me is if his family is borderline destitute and even a paltry G-League salary would be a huge financial windfall for them. Or maybe he got a girl pregnant and we don't know about it. Otherwise it would appear to simply be an immature, emotional decision based on frustration over everyone around him having money while he doesn't.

Sadly, wouldn’t be surprised if Bediako ended up over seas

I mean, that's not a bad life at all.

So Primo didnt make an NBA team? Is he in the D league?

Alabama basketball's Charles Bediako was not selected in the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday but signed a training camp deal with the San Antonio Spurs, according to a report from ESPN.
Bediako heads to the professional ranks after two seasons under coach Nate Oats. The sophomore from Brampton, Ontario, put together a strong sophomore campaign as he earned a spot on the SEC All-Tournament and All-Defensive teams in 2023.
Bediako wasn't selected, but Alabama was well-represented in the NBA Draft. This marks the fourth consecutive year Alabama has had at least one player drafted. JD Davison (2022), Joshua Primo (2021), Herb Jones (2021) and Kira Lewis Jr. (2020) were previous Crimson Tide players who have heard their names called. Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney were selected in the first round of the draft.

Primo was a lottery pick to the Spurs, but was released after the weird "exposing himself to the team therapist" situation and is currently a free agent. Still only 20 years old so he will probably get picked up by someone at some point.

Not at all. But I think if he’d come back one more year, he would’ve been drafted next year.

That might actually be an accurate description of his situation.

He's probably going to Kentucky, but Tre Mitchell just entered the portal.

Chuck just has no offense. His free throw shooting improved a little this year, but his only shot is a dunk off a pick and roll. He was making 3's in warm ups, but shot (and missed) only one in a game. He never developed any post moves, like a Kareem hook, that even Gurley could make inside. Chuck was in a great situation to develop, but just impatient I guess. You would think he would take a long look at Herb Jones, who left with degrees and starts for the Pelicans.
