It's literally always something with this program. If things are going well on the court it's a constant stream of bullshite off the court and vice versa.

Let's see how hard we pursue Tre White now as a possible take if we are going to let Walton walk.

Same. I honestly couldn't care less about second degree weed and legally owned firearms.

What in the frick are you talking about. If we’re kicking out kids for legally owning guns and smoking weed then most of the team would be gone
The kicker is that he got arrested.

After all of what was endured last year, I personally hope we let him walk.

It will only look worse if we keep him and I just don’t know what on God’s Earth he was thinking risking that with him representing our program and knowing what the team dealt with the majority of the year.

I would normally say this isn’t a big deal at all, but it most definitely is one now after the past few months and sadly an example probably needs to be made out of him for the public view of our program

Hope we walk away from him? I'm on the fence. I mean if you take the Miles situation completely out of it it's one of those things that would get like one media story and be done because he's only charged with possession of marijuana, which is a substance you would find in literally every single off campus apartment resided in by our basketball players. Can you take the Miles situation out of it though? With how recent it was, I don't know that you can. And while he'd be a nice piece, I don't think Walton is the caliber player you stick your neck out for.

Seems we've gone from constant soft tissue injuries to constant arrests.

im fine with either route honestly. if we keep him then sure, its not that big a deal and the media drama can go frick itself as usual. if we let him go then it sets a public precedent that were a program committed to the level of professionalism needed for winning and churning out pros. while walton is a solid piece, he is still replaceable for now.

It's not a good move, but probably a necessary evil.

There really wasn’t any other choice. They would be talking about it every time Walton was in the game and linking it to the murder during broadcasts, media write ups, etc.

We’re actually lucky this happened now so we can fill the spot, and since he was never on the team it will probably go away pretty fast.

It was the only choice and I’m glad they acted swiftly.

I don't disagree, but at some point we have to move on regardless of what the media has to say about it. I mean, if 5 or 6 years from now we have some kid get arrested for public intoxication on the Strip and some count like Goodman or Forde decides to write up a hit piece connecting it to Miles because he had also been drinking on the Strip are you kicking that kid off the team? I think this situation is a lot less clear cut than that hypothetical, but when and where do you draw the line? You can't let that shite affect your disciplinary decisions indefinitely.

This. I hate it for the kid. Any other school and it's a nothing burger. We didn't have a choice though.
