I’m very excited about Walton and am surprised there hasn't been more buzz in this thread about
him.
him.

These further solidify a modification to next year's offense. I like it if we can pull in these other guys.
Yep - all these guards finish at the rim and shoot a well above average percentage in the lane, plus they are all better 3 point shooters straight on and from the wing than the corner, which is where the majority of their 3s will come from.

Same - extremely excited. Assuming he's eligible to play next year he is a massive add. Fits everything we want to do perfectly.

-Oats and staff have plenty of good portal options. As expected, UA is a hot spot for transfers, and they have received more interest from top guys than they will have spots for them. Filling the roster won't be a problem. But Bama is looking for experienced guys to help them next year. Again, there are plenty of options out there for them to choose.
-I do expected UA to be successful in getting the top guy/ guys they want in the portal. It probably won't be the popular names some of you like but they have a system in place and they follow that blueprint when they evaluate players.
Sure sounded like we would have our choice of guys out of the portal when this was posted. Seems like, except for Walton, we're hoping to land our back-up options at this point.

Based on what? Walton was clearly our #1 target as we grabbed him before most of us wiped the tears from our eyes after the S16 loss.
We reached out to some guys but I don't think there is anything out there that says we we had Mennifield and/or Jones as our can't miss #1 guards. As has been stated 100 times, the transfer portal is going to come down to staff evals of players. Any sort of "transfer portal ranking" of players is basically worthless.

Sounds like its playing out exactly like the quote said to me.

This is going to be really big for Chuck and Pringle. Should see big years from them barring injury. I know Q and Sears will benefit largely too. I really like the direction it appears Oats is moving in.

Where do you get the player shooting graphs from?
Can you post the ones for Q and Sears from this season, if you don't mind?

CBB Analytics - Shot Map
You type in a guys name and he should pop up. Change from team to player and heat map to shot zones (medium)

Mackenzie Mgbako decommitted from Duke.

Mack is someone I really like as a player, but similar to Gurley, I just don't know if we'll capitalize on what was his biggest strength before transferring (post-ups). I'm all for adding some level of post-up game, but doing that alongside Bediako or Pringle will likely result in too much congestion to be overly successful. The positive side there is that Mack is a very solid passer, which should help ward off defenders from cheating off too early.
His percentages from deep aren't great, but they are good enough to space the floor. He also does have some upside with his quick release which should help his shot translate better and quicker than Gurley's did.
Again, I do wish he gave more rim protection, but if he's very switchable on defense like I've heard others mention, that should help off-set that negative.

Crazy stat - Nimari was 9/10 from the right corner 3 slot last year.
5/23 from the left corner
13/50 everywhere else from 3
5/23 from the left corner
13/50 everywhere else from 3

I agree with the concerns about Mack. I think he would have to be more of a floater on offense if Chuck or Pringle are in the game. It provides us with a more physical Gurley type player that provides inside/out play and quality depth for Chuck and Pringle. I do wish he was taller and dropped some weight to be better able to take guys off the bounce.
Side note, I'd like to apologize to you for a comment I made to you a few days ago. Wasn't called for.

Thank you. Their shot zones tell it all. Not pretty.
Can't figure out how to pull the images into here.
Wish Darius McGhee was a transfer option. Damn, what a shot chart and player.

Honestly, I remember something but can't even recall what it was. I probably said something to deserve it

Wrightsell probably comes down to how much he wants to start versus how much he wants to win. I assume he could go to Nebraska and Minnesota and start and be one of the main offensive options. Here, he would be be behind Q and Sears.

Thank you. It was more on me. My dad was recently diagnosed with Parkinsons and it's been really tough dealing with everything and keeping my emotions in check.

Sorry to hear about this. My wife's dad had Parkinsons. I can sympathize.
