According to one of the people who reported this on Twitter Nicholls is in the bottom 5 in D1 basketball spending. Among public schools that have to report their financials at least.

Whittle is walking it back on the alabama community page on Twitter.

Coaching in the Southland and coaching the Sun Belt/ ASUN are different universes imo.

This. Plus looking at Claunch's resume, it's short. He has HC experience (albeit at a lower level), but he lacks anything in the way of a respectable recommendation, which is likely what he's hunting. Two things P6 schools look at the most are HC success and coach recommendations. I'm not sure Oats would be here right now if it wasn't for Izzo's and Hurley's recommendation.

My guess is his stay here is a quick one and he'll be aiming for a higher level mid-major job next.

Of the 3 he would be the easiest to replace for me.

Honestly, makes me wonder if he was bitched out by our athletic department and now he's trying to pull attention away from it. Not sure if discussions with show cause coaches have NCAA consequences, but if so Whittle likely just lost his contact.

1 thing regarding Pettway, he has a child with medical issues that he has to take to Atlanta on a consistent basis. That's probably why he chose Kennesaw.

This rumor from reddit is hilarious.

quote:

Rumor is that all the assistants were told they would not be returning this season due to the handling of the murder. Some of the board of trustees and boosters were upset by the handling of the whole situation.

Oats and the AD reportedly responded by saying the assistants were responsible for the players since they recruited them and manage them day to day. So they were getting rid of those culture problems after the post season run.

Sounds more like Oats threw his assistants under the bus if you ask me…

From people associated with Buffalo who keep in touch with coach Hodgson who wanted to return to Buffalo…

edit: why am I being downvoted for a rumor that I obviously scoffed at?

Oh, wait. That's another Denver.

The guy was downvoted a ton. But I'm sure every Purdue fan that read it believes it. They spearheaded the anti-Bama sentiment on there for some reason, even more than AU and UT.

Then that makes a whole lot of sense for him. HC experience and reduces stress on the family.

A good bag man wouldn't have a show-cause for a recruit he didn't even land. He seems to be really well liked though.

Sometimes it’s not the bag man that matters but the man’s bag.

Im all for Pringle playing more, but he would have been in foul trouble if he had played more due to his defensive play. Maybe that would have gotten better with more play, though. He is a freak athlete, and would be a rebounding demon if he played enough.

There are times Pringle could've played more. But that wouldn't mostly been at the expense of Bediako's minutes. And Chuck was one of them most efficient players in the country, and was owning the paint by the end of the year. If he could shoot more, then Gurley could've played a little less. He'll definitely get his minutes this season.

Wonder who will be responsible for defense?

Probably the dude who holds the NCAA single game block record (at 14 in a game).
