Wtf….Sears was awesome this year. Burnett has been hurt both years but when he was healthy at the beginning of this year he was solid. Bruner was great until he got hurt. Welch got hurt. Quinerly has been an amazing transfer pick up
Our transfers have gotten hurt is the problem. Sears didn’t and was very good.

Bradley has good PG size. He needs to improve light years (and he will) over whatever that was we saw from him the last couple months. I agree that Sears was disappointing late in the season. Hopefully, he improves his shooting next year. We simply have to have better shooting, though. That is top priority. Our overall numbers don't look bad because we shot well earlier in the year. The second half of the season was pretty brutal outside of Miller (and to some extent JQ), though. 6'4" is plenty fine considering how good a defender Denver is suppose to be.

Sears was scrappy. He plays hard. I like him, overall. Shooting-wise, though, it was the tale of two half-seasons. The first half was good. The second half (for seemingly all the guards except for JQ) was just absolutely brutal.

Sears isn't a great fit and Burnett
Total nonsense! Sears was about all we had Friday night. 16 points, 10 rebounds. What do you think good is? Burnett has been hurt, as was Welch. More and more, winning teams have experience, and we were very young. Bradley and Burnett have strong builds and are smart and talented. Let them keep growing, and they will be really good. Same with Griffin, Pringle, and Bediako. Sears will be a senior next year, but with another year of eligibility, and with the returners can provide great leadership.

Sears was inconsistent at best and we needed him to work more as a point guard and that's not what he's capable of doing at this level or in our offense. I'll give you Burnett due to injuries but not sold on his shot mechanics or ability to be a consistent scorer. Welch didn't do much at all when healthy. Wasn't talking about Bruner since it was the beginning of Oats time and we needed players for the transition. Gurley has been solid for what he's expected to do. Q has been great at times but to say he's consistent is dishonest.

I didn't say he was a bad player. I don't like him as a point guard in our offense. His size and lack of attacking with a right hand is very limiting in OUR offense. Let's not act like he was consistently good this season either. He disappeared for multiple games due to his shooting.
That being said, I do like his aggressiveness and teamwork. I just don't think he's a good fit for point guard for us. With Bradley struggling greatly and Q's up and down play, we needed Sears to be able to run the point. SDS was face guarding Q a lot in our game and forced Sears to initiate the offense and it was really bad.

I do think Bradley has a lot of potential. I'm excited to see his improvement. We will need him to be really good at point if we don't pick up one this off season.

I agree completely. We've got to find some guys that can shoot.

As soon as other teams saw what Bradley could do, which was drive to his right, and try to force it up, he couldnt do anything but dribble for 10 second and give up the ball. He might improve dramatically, and I hope he does.

Hopefully, he could score like he did at FIU, but he's only 6'4" and his turnover numbers are really bad. For those that got frustrated by JD's carelessness with the ball, you won't like Denver. JD's averaged 4.8 assist and 2.9 turnovers a game. Denver averages 2 assist and 3.2 turnovers a game. For shooting guard comparison, Shack averaged 1.5 assist and 2.0 turnovers a game.
Not saying it's not something to monitor, but Denver was playing more minutes per game and had the ball in his hands way more. For a better comparison, Denver had a 16% turnover percentage compared to Davison's 27%.

Would be awesome, but i'm guessing he's probably going to Arkansas.

Is there any word on if Quinerly is coming back?

Gotcha. I personally hope he does.

We should make a big play for Caleb Love. He's perfect for our system.

Assuming Clowney and Miller declare, we decide to release RJ Johnson (especially given the PR disaster we've just gone through), and everyone else (including JQ) comes back that leaves us with a scholarship roster of...
Jaden Bradley
Mark Sears
Rylan Griffen
Jahvon Quinerly
Davin Cosby
Charles Bediako
Nick Pringle
Nimari Burnett
Sam Walters
Kris Parker
Mo Dioubate
That leaves us with 2 open spots. Who are you going after (specific player or prototype) with those 2 open spots?
For me, I really like Denver Jones, and he seems really realistic for us to pick up. He should help us with our shooting woes. Ware would be an absolutely perfect Clowney replacement, but seems unlikely. Definitely think we need to go with a lengthy 3 or 4 who can space the floor a little to fill that length hole Miller and Clowney are leaving us with. Jaemyn Brakefield out of Ole Miss would seem to be a great fit for that as well.
I'm not familiar with Zack Austin other than stats, but my goodness that stat-line is absurd for a 6'4 dude. Averaged 14 PPG on 33% from 3 (on 6 attempts per game), 1.2 SPG, 6.7 rebounds per game (8 rpg his freshman year) and 2.1 blocks per game (2.1 last year in under 30 mpg). Not the ideal length to replace Clowney, but the dude must have some very long arms and be athletic as crap to pull that kind of statistics. Definitely worth our interest.
