Well their roster lists him at 0 lbs so that wasn't any help.

Here’s some highlights of him from about a month ago. He’s definitely not 210, I would say 180-185. Love his game though he is gonna be very good for us, hopefully he can get close to 195-200 lbs by next season. I don't think he realy has to get to 215 to be able to be effective for us, Brandon Miller is 6'9 200 and Walters game more resembles his than Clowney's.

He needs to start using his right hand some.

I think Walters needs to refine his dribble a decent to be able to be a 1-on-1 threat like Miller has been for us. I also just naturally think he’s a 4 for us based on skill set. I view him as a more fluid, athletic, and basically effective Noah Gurley. Basically what we all dreamed Gurley could be when he decided to transfer here.

I wasn't saying he is anywhere close to as good as miller, just that he is more of a forward that specializes in shooting threes like miller. He isnt gonna be playing down low as much and doesn't have to put on a ton of weight like a PF would. If he can get to around 200 lbs like Miller is, he will probably play a good bit.

Four-star forward Derrion Reid recaps regional visits
Top-50 junior Derrion Reid came onto the national scene this summer and since then has been on a handful of visits within his region. A 6-foot-7 skilled and versatile forward out of Grovetown (Ga.) Reid took his most recent unofficial visit to South Carolina and saw where he could fit in within Lamont Paris' style of play.
"I saw their play style and where I could fit in," Reid said. "I definitely felt like the environment was good for me. I was welcomed and got to see where I can be used. It was also fun watching GG Jackson."
In addition to the Gamecocks, Reid has taken unofficial visits to Alabama, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Mississippi State, and Tennessee dating back to the fall. He recapped a handful of his visits with 247Sports:
Alabama: "Antoine Pettway recruits me from there. The environment was deep. I got to watch how they practice and their energy during the practice was good. I like the staff. Their chemistry with the players was clicking.
Georgia: "I know Mardrez McBride. He is from around my area. I am really close with him. They have been looking at me since the summer and Mike White has came to a lot of my games to build a relationship. I have seen how he coaches his players and have been to a few games. I see how they work on and off the court."
Georgia State: "It was a good visit. The first visit I went to was to there with my teammate. They had not offered him at that time, but after the summer we broke out. We both got to see the campus and watch a practice. I am really close with Jonas Hayes."
Georgia Tech: "I talk to Julian Scwartz. I met my AAU coach up there and I got to see the area. I got to watch a practice and meet the coaches. I got to see what they were like and they push their players hard."
LSU: "Casey Long recruits me from there. The environment definitely stood out to me because I went to a football game and they get deep. I got to see the campus and watch a practice. I liked the vibe there and saw where I could fit in on their team and where I could improve."
Reid says he was originally planning to announce a top ten list cut on New Years Day but says he will now release his list in a month. Once he begins scheduling official visits, Reid says he will focus on the educational benefits a program can provide first and foremost.
"My mother is a teacher and she is big on education," Reid said. "Playstyle, what coaches are like on and off the court, and my fit are also things I will look at."
Rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports, Reid is ranked No. 46 in the 2024 Top150 Player Rankings.

Tim Watts posted a couple hours ago we may not be pushing for Moore at this point, a visit hasn't been scheduled even though there was talk of one Wednesday night.
Aiden Sherrell seems to be a priority and Jarin Stevenson was mentioned as well.

He got 2 crystal balls to Syracuse today. Guess he wants to stay close to home, he is from NY.

I hope we’re going all out for Dink Pate.

A class with Sherrell and Pate would be awesome.

I bet we get one of those guys too. Both are similar to Clowney and they both have to love what they see him doing this year. We have the perfect offense for them honestly.

Elijah Moore and Boogie Fland have been offered huge NIL deals by Syracuse’s top booster. According to the article he is offering some players 6 figure deals with incentives could grow it to 7 figures.

Oats aint playin that highest bidder BS he said he wants players that come to Alabama because they want to be here, whether its because they like the style of play, the coaches, the school ect. I like that approach, seems to be working out this year with the new guys, Miller, Sears, Bradley, Griffen, and Clowney.

If Oats continues to send a couple per year to the NBA in the early rounds, we'll be OK!

How is what is mentioned in that article not still against the rules? I mean I guess the rules are meaningless if no one enforces them, but a booster literally arranging unofficial visits, hosting recruits, and negotiating performance incentive based "NIL" deals with them just seems like playing recruiting violation bingo.

That’s what I thought too, shugs.

We got insanely lucky with Miller having his dad play here and Clowney flying under the radar because he didn’t do the big name high school circuits. I want players to want to be at Alabama too but the NIL game is still going to need a slight increase to lock some of these guys in. We’re not always going to get away with having a big time transfer come in because he’s a local but I trust Oats more than anything.

Bradley was a 5 star and came here cause his family had the best connection with our coaches and they liked our style of play. Same with Rylan Griffen who was a top 50 player. There will be others that are the same way. We were right there in it for Jarace Walker too who seemed to be honestly looking for the best fit and not chasing money.
I am sure our players get compensated their fair market value in NIL but trying to get guys to come to your school just because you're paying the most money seems like a recipe for disaster.
Didnt work out well for Texas A@M last year in football, not only did they suck on the field but a lot of those players left after the season.
