Early 2022 NBA Draft Big Board: Top 30 Prospects to Watch
quote:
11. J.D. Davison, G, Alabama
Height: 6' 3" | Weight: 175 | Age: 18 | Freshman
Davison will step in immediately as a key playmaker for the Crimson Tide, with elite explosiveness and open-court speed pointing to obvious NBA upside. The range of outcomes with Davison is a bit wide—he’s not a good jump shooter yet, and he’s headed for a big step up in level after dominating lesser high school competition in Alabama. But his physical tools are excellent, he’s an underrated passer with lead guard potential, and he should be a strong fit in Nate Oats’s uptempo system. He’ll need to show progress as a shooter to make the best possible case—and it’s a glaring hole for a ball-dominant guard to have—but the pieces are in place for Davison to have a strong freshman year. He’ll share ballhandling duties with Jahvon Quinerly, and a good showing could vault him into the upper part of the draft.

This was Tipton on August 14th.
Thanks for the reminder. I was remembering the update you had posted the page before (page 300) that quoted someone as saying they were hearing he did not want to go the college route. Would love to have him.

I'd think we'd get the full schedule in the next week. It came out around this time in 2019.

Nick Smith Jr. is NOT at Kentucky for an official visit this weekend, he told @Stockrisers. The five-star prospect will be on the campus of Arkansas next Saturday for an official visit, which is still on schedule and will happen.

That has to be good for us.

That kind of means it's down to us and Arkansas in my mind.
rockiee, you got anything new to share?

Apparently Zion Cruz is back on to commit tomorrow. The speculation is that Bruce liked Smith more and was asking Cruz to hold off until we find out where we stand with Smith. My guess is Bruce found out they were most likely running 4th so he gave Cruz the green light.
If Cruz goes somewhere else then my theory is crap and just ignore it

No, I think you are correct. All that lines up pretty cleanly.

Would be very surprising for Cruz to go anywhere other than AU imo.

shite, I see it now. ACL appears to be the rumor.

If it's true, i'm glad that Oats recently had some good things to say about Miles. We are going to need him if Nimari is lost. Also might need Holt to step up and play some important minutes at times.

Ooof. That makes me sick, if true

CAN WE GO ONE frickING OFFSEASON WITHOUT A KEY INJURY??
Posted on 9/5/21 at 7:51 am to mistaken4193
At this point is it fair to question some of the strength and conditioning? Gary, Rojas, Tchikou, and now possibly Burnett all with major season ending injuries in the last couple years. Not placing blame and other programs may dealing with the same, but it seems like a lot.

Seems that way. As I’ve said before, everything on our end was saying Kentucky was eventually going to come into the picture as the main threat. With that seeming out of the picture, I believe the only realistic options are Arkansas and Bama. Bama with the lead. Our number 1 reporter on 247 has said since the beginning that it will come down to his visit at Arkansas. That looks correct at this point. Arkansas has to make up that ground.

Where on Twitter? I follow about 5 Bama basketball twitter accounts, plus some players like JQ and shack. Looked at Nimari's too. Don't see anything about an injury other than to Rojas. Some poster I've never heard of posted the Nimari injury on Tider Insider, and cited Twitter rumors, but where do you guys see confirmation of the injury?
Posted on 9/5/21 at 1:28 pm to AbSnopes
There is no confirmation but I had heard a rumor of a “key injury” a couple days before it hit twitter but wasn’t given a name, so I’m assuming this is gonna end up being true. I hope and pray it isn’t. Would love to go one freaking off-season without a key injury.
