If Houston starts to pull top 25 recruits, how long before Kelvin Sampson's school phone records are subjected to an open records request?

Tchikou makes the winning bucket, so if he hurt his knee, it wasn't too bad.
It was supposedly a minor injury.

Maybe a dumb question, but how and why did Tchikou end up playing in this thing? Were Oats and Company cool with it?
He went rogue and did without permission. Oats and the trainer were very pissed

Alabama's Josh Primo said he's heard his range could be anywhere from late lottery to early second round.
He's just 18, with a ton of room to grow in both his game and physically. Wasn't featured much at 'Bama, but ton of potential.

I might be wrong but everything he got in trouble for back at Indiana is allowed now, right?
Not that he isn't going to keep pushing the limits if that is the case.

I think part of it is and part is not. The volume of his communications with recruits I think would now be permissible, but there's still no-contact periods for him to ignore.

Was reading an interview with Jarace Walker from back in February and came across this tidbit.
quote:
PI: If you could team up with any high school player in the country when you guys get to college, who would you pick?
Jarace Walker: Jaden Bradley and I have been playing great together recently. I feel like he is a great all-around point guard: he gets his teammates involved, knows when to shoot and pass. He’s a great guy who I would definitely want to play with at the next level.

In Drew De Armond ESPN 97.7 interview from April, posted this morning, Furman broadcaster says Gurley has 2 years to play at Alabama and plans to do so. Obviously plans change (Primo) but he does have two years.
That's awesome news. I knew he had two years left since covid but didn't expect him to use the extra year.

Pretty much it seems

But 11 years later, he's not as easy to dismiss as a cheating scoundrel. For one, most of the rules he blatantly violated are no longer NCAA violations, an amendment that makes it more complicated to condemn Sampson in the present.

I'd love for the Hawks to use one of our 2nd round picks on Herb. His skillset is very intriguing to me on our roster.

Nate Oats and his staff were pretty visible at the Peach Jam and many of their targets were on hand. Whether it was point guard Jaden Bradley of Team CP3 or combo guard Nick Smith of Bradley Beal Elite -- just to mention a few guys -- Alabama seemed to be just about everywhere I turned.
I want to keep it to players that were at the Peach Jam for this answer and to stress that Bradley sure looked to be a massive priority. However some others that I would be keeping tabs on as an Alabama fan would be four-star wing Kimani Hamilton from Missisissippi and his teammates four-star combo guard Chandler Jackson and top 150 wing Solomon Washington of Team Thad.
Eric Dailey is another that I would want to track. Also in the state of Florida, intriguing big bodied combo forward Brice Sensabaugh is another who emerged and earned an offer from Oats and his staff after watching him play.
Four-star Rodney Rice is a solid combo guard and another that I would be keeping a close eye on. Lastly, Smith's summer teammate Brandon Miller is a top 30 prospect and has the size and versatile inside/out wing game that Alabama would love to add.
This isn't by any means a full list, but at least touches on a few guys to monitor moving out of the summer and into the fall.

Nice. I hope JQ is working late night with the boys like last year and bringing others with him.
Sucks shack is doing whatever he is and not working with the team. I seem to remember summer videos of him working out last year.. Maybe we will know this week one way or another.

UAA Dallas: Five-star forward Jarace Walker recaps official visits
Houston: "Quannas White has been recruiting me and it was a great visit. They have a high-level family atmosphere over there. They get up and down the floor, play hard, and play together. So I definitely like what they have going on over there.”
Ohio State: “Tony Skinn has been recruiting me. The atmosphere has been amazing over there. I definitely felt a family vibe from their program. I like how the school plays at a good pace. They run good sets, have a good offense, and I like how they defend as well.”
Clearly Walker wants to play in a fast-paced offense - it comes up in basically every blurb about every school.
So hopefully we're showing him some stats, because Ohio State and Houston both played at a very slow tempo last year, according to Kenpom.
Alabama and Auburn are the only teams of those four that actually played fast last year.

No question. Best of luck to MG, but man I'm glad he's long gone.
