He will get a medical redshirt and be back next year. Gonna be on our team til he is 29.
Sucks for real though I was wanting to see what he could do healthy. I think he is a good bit better than he has shown at Alabama so far but just hasn't been able to catch a break health wise.

People hated him. He sucked but I didn’t think he was a bad as people here said and he was tough. He hit the 3 that clinched our first SEC title in 19 years. He has my respect.
I’m guessing if Primo doesn’t come back Nate gives Rojas that 13th spot. Medical redshirts him and uses 2022-2023 as his Covid year

If Primo does leave after 1 year, what will everyone’s thoughts be on him? I’ll hope he does well, but I won’t have any special feelings towards him like Sexton. He did well for us, but nothing crazy really sticks out that would leave a lasting legacy.
If Primo leaves, he really isn’t one of those all-timers to me. He seemed like he was going to be great one day, but was really only our 4th-7th option during his time here. Another year and he’d be a legend.

I think KAH can provide anything we were hoping to get from Rojas in terms of depth off the bench. He was really only a 4 with the occasional possibility of playing the 5 against a small lineup.
Maybe some of the new guys can also fill whatever role Oats had in mind for Rojas, bc you know he had a plan for him. Gary had already passed Rojas in the rotation but some of those minutes could go to Gary.

Sucks for him but doesn’t change my outlook on the season at all.
Obviously I hate it for Rojas. Nothing but appreciation for his hard work. My positive spin is that now we don't have to deal with or worry about Oats forcing minutes to Rojas that could go to basically anyone else on the roster.

Rojas wasn’t the best, but we’ve had a lot worse in the last 5 seasons.

I'll think of him as a Primodanna, who went pro before he ever did anything noteworthy in college. He should have gone to the G league.
I really don't want to be Kentucky with a bunch of one and dones.
If your not a student athlete, go the minor league. Simple as that. If you see yourself as something more than just a jock angling to get paid, and you aspire to being more than an ignorant cretan with a bank account, then discipline yourself enough to develop a bit as a player and a human being before you move on to the next step.
Basically, he"ll be a wasted scholarship.

Who are you to determine what other people should be doing?

This roster is much deeper and more talented than what we've had the last five years though.

Hey, I'm just saying that it pointless to masquerade as an student solely to advance in sports. If a guy stays two or three years, he has at least progressed in his education.
If he goes after a year, assuming he isn't a first rounder with guaranteed money, then why the pretence? Why not go the the minors instead?
Someone else could have taken that scholly and developed and been better as a junior and senior than Primo was as a backup freshman.
I mean, if you guys are arguing that these players should have no regard for education and intellectual self development, then I think you forget that Alabama is a first and foremost a school,. They don't have to be geniuses. But at the very least they need to value the pursuit of knowledge, at least to a degree.
You see guys come back and finish their degree. I admire them greatly. But these one and dones are too far from a degree to do that.
We shouldn't even be having this discussion with Primo. Not yet. He isn't ready for the freaking NBA.
I suspect Oats wouldn't have taken him as a one and done. He's not Sexton. He wasn't a game changer as a frosh. This is actually a worst case scenario for a recruit.

"Minor league" early second round, where Primo is projected is worth about $2mil for two years. Even G League is $100K to $500K. That's a lot of money for somebody 19-20 years old - I was making minimum while in school delivering pizza for Pizza Villa. I think it depends on the family's financial circumstance. Primo, like too many, might blow his millions, or he might be like Jales Hurts and live in a regular apartment, eat mainly at the training facility, and invest his money wisely. I do think NIL may keep more players in college. I've already seen a possible "Kool Aid" t-shirt, and Quinerly will have his "Jelly-fam" videos for sale in no time. Also we have a new finance class for these guys on taking care of their money.

You are so out of touch with the realities of modern college basketball it's not even worth having a discussion with you.

Primo isn't guaranteed millions. Do you think he is guaranteed a roster spot?
He might end up playing in Greece.
Is he even ready to make an NBA team?
He needs another year.

Old person bitter about a teenager potentially leaving school early and no longer playing for a sports team he likely only cares about if they're winning. There's no sense in arguing with him. He's the same guy you still hear in BDS screaming at the OC to run the gotdang ball and win the football game when we're up 28-0 on New Mexico State.
