That's a lot of schools to type out, just to say a kid is gonna turn pro. With image/likeness earnings around the corner, that may change. But if a kid gets a domestic offer to earn 6 figures at 18, he's either going pro or to LSU.

That Primo write up was very accurate. That's a guy who's watched a lot of film on Bama. I looked him up to see who he was (I'm out of the loop). And to see that from a national senior CBS sports writer, it's impressive with it's accuracy.

Any news on Primo? Or if he’s leaning towards staying in or coming back?

Yeah, Norlander is a good one.

Nothing yet. He has until July 7 to withdraw his name from the draft.

The deadline is still a few weeks away, so it'll probably be a while. Evergthing seems to be pointing at anywhere in the 20-40 range though, which means it's a coin flip. If a team tells him they're drafting him at 24th if he stays in, he's staying in. If no one makes that kind of promise to him it'll depend on how bad his family needs the money. Coming back to cement himself as a 1st rounder would be less risky, but you just never know.

To me, it's a no-brainer to come back and cement yourself as a 1st round pick and lock up some guaranteed money. He plays in a pro-friendly system and his minutes will go up a bit. He's currently the youngest player in the draft class so it's not like his age will become a negative, like Kira coming back for his 2nd year. We haven't seen the true Primo yet and hope we see that jump in crimson before he's drafted.

Heard that both Shack and Primo got Combine invitations, so we will not know until that plays out. The NBA Combine is June 21-27. They will have to stay in the draft or come back by July 7.

Yeah even setting aside my own bias, if I was advising him in a professional capacity I'd tell him to go back to school unless a team picking late 1st tells him they're going to pick him if he stays in. You can't understate how big of a deal it is that the 29th pick gets a guaranteed roster spot whereas the 33rd pick does not. If you're on the border between the 1st and 2nd round as a college freshman, you should go back unless a team lets you know they're going to take you in the 1st.

1 of 2 important things for Primo. If he gets invited to the draft combine. If so, expect it to stretch out longer. Probably July before we hear anything official. But if he does not get the invite, you can pretty much guarantee that he'll be back.

Primo feels a lot like the Kennedy Winston situation to me. Borderline draftable based on talent alone, but underdeveloped for the amount of talent he has. Winston was probably a better overall player at the time, but also had a lower ceiling than Primo. Obviously Winston left early and didn’t get drafted at all. Hoping Primo gets a solid evaluation or better support than Winston if he’s not guaranteed a spot in the first.

Someone reported this morning that he was invited.

Just my guess based on the mock drafts I have seen recently and the articles. I think there is a `10% chance Primo would go in the first round, 70% percent he goes in the second round, and a 20% chance he would go undrafted as of right now.
If he has a great combine he could improve him odds for sure.

The last couple of months have featured a nonstop cycle of college basketball news. The first wave included the onslaught of the transfer market. Over 1,500 players have entered the portal this offseason, leading to the drastic roster turnover across the country that still has heads spinning. Then came the announcement of Coach K’s impending retirement, amidst several other major stories.
Put simply, there hasn’t been much time to breathe and truly look ahead to the 2021-22 campaign that is now five months away.
And while the NBA Draft withdrawal deadline is still approaching, rosters seem to be pretty close to set. There will still be some ongoing adjustments, including reclassification candidates and perhaps another transfer wave, but the initial hurricane of news has passed.
With that said, the team at Heat Check CBB met to hash out our early offseason Top 25. Our voters consisted of Lukas Harkins, Andy Dieckhoff, Brian Rauf, Eli Boettger, and Connor Hope.
Our Top 25, which will be continuously updated throughout the offseason as news breaks, features blurbs on each team written by Harkins and Rauf. Now, let’s dive in:

3) Alabama Crimson Tide
Nate Oats is quickly turning Alabama into not “just a football school.” The Crimson Tide landed a No. 2 seed at the Big Dance last year and the momentum continues to grow. This preseason rankings ceiling is dependent on whether Jaden Shackelford and Joshua Primo return to school (currently testing NBA Draft waters) but there are a lot of other pieces to be excited about as well.
A trio of former five-star guards will be heavily featured in ‘Bama’s perimeter offense with Jahvon Quinerly (2018 class), Nimari Burnett (2020 class, transfer from TTU), and JD Davison (2020 commit). The frontcourt features another highly touted recruit in 6-10 Charles Bediako as well as Furman transfer Noah Gurley (All-SoCon).
Coach Oats proved that his system can excel on both ends of the floor last season and the potential to do so again is high. This team is extremely talented. -LH
