Grant was interesting, because he was kinda the opposite of what we were told

To be fair, he likely wasn’t told he’d be playing the 5 some. He had huge adjustments to make with a body that didn’t really match what was being asked of him.

He didn’t play much 5 last year, and still had the same struggles. His offensive game just didn’t translate to big time college ball the way we’d hoped it would. He was pretty average most games but would have a stellar performance every once in awhile.

He just never developed a 3, and his handles weren't quite tight enough for high major. Still a great player, and I'm going to miss his defense. What I said wasn't meant as criticism. More pointing out how expectations can be wrong but that doesn't mean they were a bust. He was still one of our better players over the last couple decades. Just different than what we were told.

Agreed, and he definitely brought the effort every game. His defense was definitely a plus, which made him a pretty good player when combined with his modestly limited offensive game. He would have been really, really good if he could shoot 35% from 3 consistently or reduced his TOs against elite competition.

His flashes were still pretty fun, especially on the way to the F4. He’ll always be remembered fondly for what he did to help us break that S16/E8 ceiling. Sears too.

all reasonable takes, I hope he makes some money moving forward.

Can't wait for next year. The Ttown schedule is A+.

Is that Coach Murphys son? We could have a fun locker room vibe
Edit: saw two pages back it is his son. Happy for both of them

2026 four-star center Collins Onyejiaka has committed to Alabama and will reclassify to play for the Tide this upcoming season.

Pretty encouraging Here

6’10 270 and his highlights show some pretty nice rim protection

This is enormous! We absolutely cannot go into this season being a Sherrell injury away from Williamson as the only option at center.

Instant backup to Sherrell. I’d bet my last dollar this wouldn’t have happened if Williamson had looked better in June.

I guess Stevenson reclassing and not really blossoming has me worried about this but we 100% needed another big man regardless of Williamson looking bad in June workouts.

We had a roster spot so this is like a free rental. Get him in, see what his potential is. Best case scenario he can give us some minutes at the 5 and learns the system and we’re able to develop him better than playing highschool ball against a bunch of 5’11” Catholic kids in Massachusetts.

Worst case scenario we got a free look at a guy who was going to be a top 100 guy next year.
