May be asking for way too much money or even asking for considerable money just to show up on campus.

Stop it.
Y'all going left with this theory.
It's being pushed back because the staff couldn't get back in time to meet with him due to the weather issues. They're working on rescheduling the visits before Wednesday. It's not about the money.

Sure, still odd that he keeps on being unable to have an official visit not get scrubbed for one reason or another.

No it's not odd. I mentioned the weather several times.

I guess every other official he’s canceled was weather related too? What bad luck this man has!

If you trust Mac, he added this morning he doubts he visits, we will see. No explanation.

Just really odd. He seemed like a perfect addition for what we need to complete the roster. There's no way we don't have the money with what we were saving in case Philon pulled out of the draft.

If Mac says he isn’t visiting, then he isn’t visiting. We backed off him for some reason.

Well damn, sure does suck that I speculated that he must be making weird compensation demands since everyone else has done the same thing before he steps foot on their campus.

Yeah it’s a pattern with this kid. Same thing with seemingly every team he’s linked too. Don’t know what it is, but there’s a red flag somewhere.

I mean this is fricking pathetic. Oats deserves better. We are eventually gonna lose him because of it too.

I mean, if we cant afford it, then we cant afford it. Not sure what we can do. I'm sure the donors are trying their best, and I hate that the little guy has to pay into these collectives in the vain hope his team will get better.
Though, I am having trouble understanding how we we lost so many key pieces who were getting paid buckets, and don't have enough to match some of these contracts. Seems like we got suprised by the major inflation jump too.
I will add, I do think Oats is somewhat sparing with who he takes from a financial perspective. Even if a guy fits and is talented, if he's not worth $2mill then Oats doesn't pay that, regardless of the market.

Yep. People underestimate how important team chemistry is and what effect NIL will have on it. If you bring in a guy at the last minute, way overpay him, don't you think that would create resentment amongst the other 11 guys.
It's exactly why Auburn lost CBM. They brought in a guy and paid him double. By working a deal and signing early, even though he's an a-hole, you could say he was punished for his initial loyalty (resigning instead of testing the market). But now he's pissed that he's getting a million fewer dollars, and now he's mad enough to find someone who will pay him.
Get desperate and start making it rain on the last possible option, you risk ruining everything you've already built.

I have no inside info but it seems almost certain that Alabama has more than enough NIL to make a large offer to someone; but it’s possible that Oats smelled a “mercenary” who was cravenly using his late-game leverage, thus he didn’t want him. In his most recent comments he made it clear that any addition had to be a “good kid” and fit. The guess is the kid didn’t meet either of those criteria.
I personally preferred Jones especially because of his “dog” approach and his play-making abilities. But that doesn’t seem imminent or likely either. But Nate said he liked this team as-is. There are shooters and length everywhere.
One last thing: He saw how difficult trying to give meaningful minutes to 10-11 players was this past season. It causes multiple issues.

It did. But with our tendency to have multiple players miss significant time with injuries we could find our depth getting very thin very quickly if we only have 11 players.

Fland to Florida
Murphy needs to stop with the cryptic tweets, he's gotten multiple wrong the last year.

Someone needs to be on the phone with Xaivian with Fland going to UF.

Xavian Lee has already committed to Florida. Pretty filthy backcourt with Fland.

There was speculation at the time that Murphy’s tweet referred to Keonte Jones who wears number 7. Don’t know what ever happened with him either though.
