We aren’t three deep at center types but there could be a lot of length. We may have enough length that starting Holloway could work.

Don't really need to be three deep at center. I think Holloway starting is definitely possible, but I really like him in a high-minutes bench role.

I like the team, but some of the hype for mid-major transfers has been over the top the past couple years.

Maybe with a couple guys on our team. But look around CBB, a ton of the best players have been mid major transfers.

No, you don't. I do think we need another PF type body that can slide down to the 5 in a pinch. We're sorta heavy on people who seem like they could pivot between the 3 and 4 but short on people who can pivot between 4 and 5.

I suspect Holloway will start whether we get Claude or not, but he’s fairly clearly going to be towards the top of the list minutes wise anyway. Seems like the heavy favorite to lead us in scoring at this point.

And I do think we’ve done a good job of having a roster around him that makes sense, although we could use another creator to let us take advantage of his spot up shooting.

If we got Claude, I think he would play a guard-forward position. However, he could end up being the primary ball handler for certain lineups.

Nate Oats in a 'hurry' to find assistant, but no 'huge rush' to fill roster spot

"We're getting to the end. I gotta hurry it up and hire an assistant," Oats said. "The roster spot, we've got 11 really good players, so if we fill another spot, and we could really fill two if we wanted - kind of with the NIL, how much you've got left, we'll see - but we would be good going in with 11. You've seen the injuries we've had in the past. It'd be a little better if we could at least add one more."

Expecting an official visit from USC transfer guard Desmond Claude this weekend, Oats isn't in a "huge rush" to fill that extra slot.

"We're definitely not going to take anybody that wouldn't be a good fit and isn't a high-character young man," Oats said.

Going off that, sounds like we are only adding one more

Think he just took a high school job a few days ago. I mean I guess he could still come but would be a little odd taking the high school job if you knew you had something going here.

Wanted to watch some sports while I got going this morning. Sure enough, Donta Hall is playing against Barcelona. He still looks good out there. It's also cool to see his size vs others in the Spanish league, which is one of the best international leagues.

He almost hung around the NBA. Put up solid numbers in limited minutes in all of his 10 day contracts over the course of 3 years. Really thought someone would sign him as a bench piece for a few seasons. I don't know how the NBA works on the benefits part. I think in the NFL if you can complete 3 seasons on a practice squad or roster you qualify for pension.

He spent 3 years living in Monaco, and his current team is in northern Spain. Not a bad way to spend your 20s. Especially coming from BFE Luverne, AL.

This site I'm on, rbtv77.Com, has an insane amount of international streams. Weekend mornings have tons of European league games. Even now at noon central, there's still games from Spain, Romania, Italy, Austria and Israel. It's also mostly ad free, so you get to see commercial break and halftime skits from other countries.

They have an app for Android TV streaming devices and phones. So it's easy to pull up without being on a computer.

Claude not visiting today. Coaches on the road recruiting for next year and won’t be back in time. Still trying to determine a new date. This is from BOL. Mac says it doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen.

That’s not good news. Seems like you’d just move the visit to start tomorrow if you really wanted it to work.

Dead period runs May 21-June 1. So unless you get him in here tomorrow or Tuesday, which doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen, it’ll be awhile. Maybe we backed off him for some reason?

Has he actually gone on any visits? Seems like schools have cancelled them right before he shows up…UNC and Florida for example.

Wonder if his asking price is way too high or there’s some character issues somewhere? Teams seem to be linked to him really heavily and then they aren’t. We seem to be the latest that have cooled on him. Something somewhere though because it seems to be a pattern with his recruitment.
