Hearing we may take Coward and Griffen. If so I think we have a better backcourt than we did this past year.

I was surprised he's only a 32% 3pt shooter in his two seasons. High scorer though.
Maybe his shooting would improve to more like his daddy's in a more open offense?

Yeah, at this juncture, I think we're priced out on portal this year and we're not going to try to stretch for anything.

How though? The majority of our NIL commitments from last season just walked out the door. I can't imagine the guys who stayed, our recruiting class,, and the portal guys we've gotten so far have wiped us out. Who out of those guys is super pricey? Maybe Bethea? It feels like we should have enough left to get at least one high demand transfer.

Did you read the CBS article just above? Role players on losing mid major teams are getting over $1 million/year. Everybody is expensive.

Yep, tweet is what I’m saying. We aren’t even tier 2 on NIL spending in basketball this year. Oats will have to earn that paycheck to stay in the same strata as the last 3 years with the payroll deficit we’re going to have this year. Probably won’t be like this longterm with the House settlement but short term, we’re getting out spent on talent in a sport that has become a buy-a-roster-yearly sport.

That article is about who has spent that much so far, and who he knows easily could. He also mentions a lot of other schools could, if the right player(s) or situations come along. Nothing in that article says Bama can't spend more to fill out the roster, if needed.
