Supposedly AJ signed back In November with BYU

I'm well aware of the numbers that are being thrown around the internet. But, it's just a lot of "I've heard" bullshite with no concrete sources. As you see, this one dumbass is claiming Bama offered 5 mil. We know that's bullshite. I think most of these NIL claims are similar regurgitated nonsense.

His dad is definitely full of shite. He's slimy as hell, but damn good at hustling. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as AJ's agent next year.

Alabama was told by AJ’s side it would take $5m. Alabama came up with the $5m. AJ then took $7m from BYU. Bama never knew about the $7.

Alabama’s offer was nowhere near 5 million.

Mac says on BOL that Oats and staff are pretty fricking pissed about AJ signing and not telling us.

Hopefully the SID allows the question to be asked during his Creighton press conference.

Agreed, feel like Coleman would have been absolutely rocking a few days after than UNC game. Hopefully we don't have a lethargic crowd tomorrow night. I will say, tickets are not an easy get, so hopefully that's a good sign.

Gotta get instincts on this. That whole deal at his hs was a red flag.

Need a new basketball arena. Enough with the excuses.

I doubt 3 teams have a better home record over the last 5 seasons. We don't really need a new arena. New arena won't get the same folks that don't show up now to show up. Games have been very well attended so far this year though to be fair.
Big game. Finishing this stretch 5-2 would be very solid before the 3 games before conference play where we shouldn't lose.
REBOUND!!

I don't see anything wrong with it.

My sources said that they plan on funding by selling the $16 cheeseburgers.

I think it's a lot more nuanced than that. Without going into elaborate boring details, in today's athletic world NIL comes first... That said, Alabama drug their feet for over a decade.. Then blamed covid, then blamed inflation and now it's going to be NIL. The bottom line is the longer you procrastinate, the more you are going to pay for it in the end. Having a good home record is generally a great reflection of atmosphere and Coleman can be a loud difficult arena to play in.. All of that said, the basketball program is on the cusp of winning over a new generation of fans. I have been around Alabama basketball for the greater part of 50 years. Now is the time to fully invest in this program.

some aren't gonna like this post but I'm putting it right out there anyway. Yeah, everything seems great with the momentum CNO has the program on now. But here's the rub. While there might be a certain number of fans jumping on the bandwagon, there are probably multiples of that number who are like me in the following regard:
Major college sports has become nothing less than a system of quasi-professional teams with the names of colleges and universities attached to them. As with all pro athletes, these players have virtually ZERO attachment or loyalty to their school/team flavor of the month. Most of them are only loyal to the highest offer/$$$. Period. End of story.
And as such, we former "fans" feel an equal amount of loyalty/attachment to their former favorite team/school. We've had enough and are leaving this mess to whomever the leftover suckers are who choose to throw good money after bad, only to have these rental players jump on the next best available opportunity.
Hope everyone enjoys what's left of the "amateur" sports we once loved.
