Alabama's best chance to the Sweet 16 will be to fortunately get paired with that 2 seed that gets upset by that 15th seed South Patriot League champ, and then they proceed to play their worst game in the 2nd round.
Any 2 seed we might play against in the 2nd round will be reminded incessantly that "Alabama beat Gonzaga, etc." and will be ready.

I wouldn’t be that negative. We are gonna be a 6 IMO so we need teams whose Guards aren’t quick. A quick Guard will carve us up and has all year

I’m not even that excited about today with this group as compared to years past when Bama was waiting to get their name called.
But I know about 5:15 this afternoon, I’m going to be looking at the bracket convinced we are going to the Sweet 16.

What years past are u referring to? We havent been going to the tournament regularly or anything. This will be our first back to back trip in forever. This group has limitations but the program overall is in better shape than its been in ages.

I don’t know if Memphis has played their way up to an 8/9 but If I’m Auburn I do not want Memphis as a 10 in my bracket

I think the most surprised I’ve been on Selection Sunday was ‘03. We were on the bubble and lost to someone in the first round of the SEC tourney. I was convinced we weren’t getting in but we ended up making it and losing to Indiana in the first round.

Saying Nova would be a good matchup for us sounds horrible but if they struggle to score like they did yesterday, I'd take them as our #2 seed.

but just win the first one...

in other news, there's actually a thread on tigerrant that Ala fans are talking shite about Wade because they are mad about the softball losses yesterday. Those guys have quite the imagination.

Auto-bids today:
Yale vs. Princeton -3 (11/ESPN2)
A&M vs. #9 Tennessee -6.5 (Noon/ESPN)
*Richmond vs. Davidson -3.5 (12/CBS)
Memphis vs. #18 Houston -3.5 (2:15/ESPN)
#24 Iowa vs. #9 Purdue -2 (2:30/CBS)

*A Richmond win takes a bid from someone.

So just narrowing it down our first opponents will probably be one of the following:

Iowa State
Indiana
Notre Dame
Rutgers
Wyoming
Michigan
San Francisco
Sister Jean

Based on Lunardi/Palm, we'll play one of San Fran, Va Tech, Rutgers, Wyoming, Marquette, Indiana, Loyola-Chi, Notre Dame (Miami/Davidson/Memphis also 10/11 seeds we've already played).

Both ESPN’s Joe Lunardi and CBS’ Jerry Palm project Alabama will play in Pittsburgh — Lunardi has them as a No. 6 seed vs. Rutgers, while Palm has them as a No. 7 seed vs. Wyoming.

As long as its 8 or 9 pt lead tennessee will slowly stretch it out. Tough defensive team

Seems to be a little pushback on the Howland announcement. He’ll coach the NIT if they make it. Surprised they didn’t let him retire instead of firing him

both teams look pretty tired right now. One of them has more to possibly lose.
