Why the frick would someone like Scott Drew or Brad Underwood leave their current situations for a job where they will be lucky to have more than 8 scholarships to give out?

LSU is going to have trouble landing a big-time replacement with the uncertainty about how hard the program will get hit in terms of postseason ban(s).

Some early names that could make some sense: Jerome Tang, Buzz Williams, Andy Kennedy, Damon Stoudamire,

LSU can also pay big buyouts so don’t discount making a run at guys like Mike Boynton.

The question again is whether or not anyone at a good high-major program would bite given NCAA tourney uncertainty. Especially with Boynton - who just went through it.

Makes no sense to me either.

It has to be because of Woodward's reputation for throwing 30% more than anyone else would have at a big name. They're thinking he's going to offer guys Cal type money on a decade long contract and get someone who doesn't care about the sanctions since he's being paid $100 million regardless.

That's difference between having a Midwest coach and a good ole boy.

One source close to LSU program on next coach:

“The issue will be what future sanctions will the program have. I think they would need an experienced coach who can deal with the pressure and also can hold their own with Kim Mulkey. She’s got a HUGE ego.”

Mulkey is a piece of trash so that's not surpri....

BAH GAWD, IS THAT RICK PITINO'S MUSIC?!?

Really though, if they were to replace Wade with Pitino I think the NCAA would have to all but give them the death penalty.

I'm a little surprised to not see Forbes name come up with Georgia. He's got SEC experience at two schools as an assistant and has done well as a head coach.

I get why they move immediately to speculation about the next coach, but the sanctions are the far more interesting story.

What can the NCAA do at this point? What are they willing to do? Because these violations are really unusually serious.

If you’re not going to gut a program for this then we’ve clearly moved into a different stage of NCAA violation enforcement.

LSU could let Shaq coach them through some of the sanctions. Could you imagine.

Trying to be as unbiased as possible: 6 scholarships lost over 3 years, a 3 year postseason ban, 8 years probation, and a massive fine for the school. 10-15 year show cause for Wade.

It’s been frustrating watching Tennessee and Kentuckys 5* freshman PGs actually live up to the hype. Cant lie
