It's part of growing up but man I miss watching early early/afternoon weekday sports. Conference tournaments during Spring Break, December Bowl Games, the Maui, you name it and I'd be neck deep in it. Not even mentioning that the two days of the NCAA Round of 64 is tGOAT 48 hours in sports
I still remember being done with class at 11 am to pick up wing zone and go get drunk watching games. I may start using vacation time in March, but I’d regret it later in the year.

Decent amount of Bama fans I’ve seen in Tampa. I’d say so far the most by a long shot is UK, then Bama, then Arkansas.

I would love to be down there. It would be fun to just take in all the games one year.

My parents were pretty strict in everything, and my dad worked all the time and never took days off. However, he always stayed home the Thursday and Friday of the tournament, and it was the only time of the year he basically told my mom that we could do something she objected to and was just like "this is the way it is, your opinion doesn't matter"
Watched so many awesome NCAA Tournament games with him sitting at home as a kid.

We all probably have random school memories of the tournament (or stay at home memories).
Bama had a feverish comeback against South Carolina one year. 17ish points I think. We listened to Chris Stewart freak the hell out over the loadspeakers during practice

I've done it in Atlanta a few times back when it was still here quite a bit. It's a ton of fun, especially Friday and Saturday. And people watching the Kentucky fans (especially in Atlanta and I'm sure similarly Nashville) is amazing. It's got to be the equivalent of people watching Bammers at Spring Games.

Tamu did a better job of taking JDs right hand away from him than most teams. Its crazy that other teams have not picked up on that, or maybe they have and I hadnt noticed. But, Tamu pretty much forced him to his left the entire game. I personally dont think he has the explosive quickness (his feet) to play the point. We pretty much use Shack and Keon to guard the other teams quickest or best scorer. So in most games they both get a work out trying to defend the other teams best player.

Oh yes. It's like the Running of the Gumps but thousands of people doing their part to embarrass their whole state instead of just a few dozen.

I thought Alabama basketball fans were self deprecating, but these Missouri fans are on another level. Listening to their running commentary is hilarious.

2022 SEC Tournament Preview: Alabama to Face Vanderbilt/Georgia Winner Thursday Night
The Crimson Tide begins quest for back-to-back SEC Tournament titles for the first time since winning three-straight from 1989-91
On the eve of its 2022 Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Tournament opener, the sixth-seeded Alabama men's basketball team spent the day making final preparations for Thursday's opener against the winner between No. 11 Vanderbilt and No. 14 Georgia. That contest will tipoff at approximately 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET) on SEC Network on the first full day of the event, which is being held March 9-13 in Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
The Crimson Tide enters the event as the defending SEC Tournament Champions, winning three games in Nashville on the way to the program's seventh tournament title and first in 30 years dating back to 1991. Alabama earned the No. 1 overall seed and defeated Mississippi State (78-49) in the quarterfinals, Tennessee (73-68) in the semis and LSU (80-79) in the championship game.
Alabama and Vanderbilt have met in the SEC Tournament play eight times, with each team winning four. The last time the two teams met in postseason play was March 12, 2009 (Alabama 82, Vandy 75). The Crimson Tide owns a 6-4 lead when playing Georgia in SEC Tournament action with the last contest coming on March 11, 2011 (Georgia 65, Alabama 59/OT).
With last year's title run, Alabama has won seven SEC Tournament championships in program history. The other six tournament titles were won in 1934, 1982, 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991. The Tide owns a record of 70-53 (.558) in all-time SEC Tournament games, ranking second in tournament winning percentage and third in total tournament wins.

I was sick every year in middle school for the first Thurs/Fri of the tournament. My dad finally caught on and told me I could stay home and watch without saying I was sick.
I still work until Thurs at noon and leave for the weekend the first weekend. That's not changing.
