We have a lot to be excited about as far as the future goes but at the end of the day this team can still win the SEC TOURNAMENT which is crazy if you look at all our post at times lol.
Some of our guys need to play too their potential.
Get everybody refocused and ready too go.

I understand!
Next season team will be probably our most talented team ever on paper but it doesn't mean a thing without an ALPHA LEADER which I think that will be Nimari if he's close to 100%.

Statistically impossible. We would have to put 4 good games together in 4 days. We can do 1, maybe 2, but we most certainly would barf up a Georgia/ Missouri/ aTm type game and get beat.

Rewatching yesterdays game. Saw this and took a picture. Multiple guys on bench holding up 4 fingers and yelling the time. JD has to do better, no excuse

Nothing is impossible with this team bro. I thought the same thing when we played Gonzaga, Baylor, & Houston!

He has to be alert. He is the point guard/quarterback so to speak.

While that is true, it was loud and he probably wasn’t looking at the bench at that point. Coaches should have been screaming until everyone had made eye contact and knew, should have called timeout to get a good play, and that is where a “floor general” is essential. JQ should have made sure that every single person on the court knew the situation. That’s what floor generals do.
There was an interview on last week’s morning radio with a Mich St. player that was talking about the legacy of Coach K, Izzo, etc (think it was Charlie Bell). He said that he watched Mateen Cleaves the year before and realized that Mateen always had “one eye on the bench” and was an extension of Izzo on the court. He realized that he had more to learn than just playing good basketball, and worked hard to develop his relationship with Izzo such that he could also be a coach on the floor. They won the National Championship that next year (2000). We don’t have a single floor general this year, let alone two or more. While JD should know better, the blame definitely falls to JQ, Ellis, Shack, etc. One of those guys should have made sure all players knew the situation. To use a football analogy, JD wasn’t ready this year to be the starting QB in a 2 min drill to win the game. That’s what the veterans are supposed to do.
ETA: Joka beat me to the QB analogy

I guess he thought it meant we were going into the 4th quarter?

Based on the SEC teams shot chart, you have to ask which philosophy is really moat successful?
You have teams like Bama and Florida and Vandy with a heavy percentage of 3pt and at the rim with varying success. Then you have teams like UK and somewhat Auburn that uses a heavier mix of mid range shots and are leading the league.

Just a joke. I put it more on Oats for not managing the situation better with his timeouts and communication.

Our offense is better than everyone in the Leagues but Kentucky. And that is with having small guards, turning it over nonstop, and not many shooters. Defense has to better next year…has to.

I'm not sure how that is "statistically impossible". It's improbable, but it's not like it would be something unheard of. We play up or down to our competition. It's not that we're consistently being blown out. We only had 3 double-digit losses and two of those were to top 5 teams. The Auburn blowout was heavily facilitated by the most one-sided whistle of the year. The UK loss was the result of us shooting 3/30 from deep and we still only lost by 11. The A&M game is the only double-digit loss that is unexplainable.
In the SEC Tournament as the defending champs, I'd hope that they'll be motivated in each of these games, but we'll see soon enough. Again, I wouldn't bet on it or anything, but this group can get it done if they stay motivated and confident.

I agree our offense is not really our problem this year. I just know that apparently you can have a successful offense with different styles. It doesn't have to be one style only to be successful.

We can do it if we don't have Shack disappear like he did last game.
We need at least average games from our main guys.
