Your opinion...JD has worked hard to get where he's at now from not being able to shoot a lick as a Freshman to being sporadic as a Sophomore and ultimately making a huge jump his Junior year in high school. I think he knows he has a ways too go in he will get there. It's something he's used to and that's having to work.
I hope Coach Oats can convince him to stay and develop more to ultimately becoming a lottery pick.
When people speak negatively on JD doesn't know really what he's done to get where he is today. His path was very Sexton like but Sexton had better trainers so to speak then JD. There's tons of videos up on YouTube and different people who knows the work JD puts in on a daily basis. I think last year was the first time he's worked with a shooting coach if I am not mistaken.
He's come a long way...

He should be better than JD as a freshman because of the level of competition and access to better trainers.
I like JB Smoove as well...

No sir...JD always have been a pass first point guard. This current team doesn't have knockdown shooters nor a guy who plays above the rim. That's what he needs to be extremely successful.
We play this fast tempo and we don't have many dunks out of it smh for real!
Help is on they way...
Nick Pringle (Plays above the rim)
Rylan Griffen (Shooter)
Nimari Burnett (Shooter?)
Brandon Miller (Playmaker/Rim Runner)
Jaden Bradley (Orchestrator)

You better add (Outspoken, hardworking leader) to somebody on the help list, or we are headed for another roller coaster ride next season.

All 3 of those kids are used to winning and playing for championships. U bet your arse theyll be outspoken and willing to lead

Ill add that burnett is a shooter/defender and pringle is what our frontcourt needs

I appreciate your love for JD no matter what. But I’m calling it right now Jaden Bradley will be better than JD from day 1.
Our defense should be a lot better next year. Bradley, Miller, and Griffin are all great defenders plus we get Nimari back. I would love for JD to come back because I really think he will become the player he was expected to be this year.
If those two things happen, we're winning a championship

I mean…we kinda thought the same thing about JD. He did hit the game winning 3 to win state, although it was only 2A Bball.
Clearly a couple people didn’t agree with my post (or at least didn’t like hearing it), but I’m not sure what’s inaccurate about we need better leadership next year or we will face the same inconsistencies we’ve seen this year.
You can look at Memphis, several of Cal’s KY teams, a few young Duke teams, etc. to know that talent doesn’t always equal consistent winning. Got to have leadership!

We need another PG. Unless JD or JQ come back which seems unlikely
I think we need another PG even if one of JD or Q comes back. I'm not as sold on Bradley being ready to take over as some feel.
Bradley is good but will need scorers around him. He is more of a pass first PG. He's a better defender than our current PGs but he's not going to come in and being more of a scorer like Sexton.
I'd like to see JD come back and have he/Bradley work the PG together. If JD and Q both leave, Oats better find an experienced PG in the portal to work with Bradley.

Love jd but the caliber teams griffen, bradley, and miller have faced regularly force u to be ready every night. People have raved about bradley's leadership... And IMG is on biggest stage regularly. Miller is VERY vocal, u wouldnt know it by his interviews tho. Last but not least Griffen just makes winning plays, no matter what they are. Those 3 are ranked what theyre ranked for a reason, and honestly Miller is jabari smith with ball handling skill

I think we find that either thru via transfer portal or one of the guys that will come back like JD or Nimari.

That’s a lot of expectations to put on an incoming freshman, even if he is ranked very high. Hope you’re right! Either way, we will still need good team chemistry and strong leadership.
I think Oats clearly knows that, and I’m hoping he has a good plan to help develop it over the off-season and early in OOC games. Given how young we will be in key areas (depending on transfers), I think we will have to expect growing pains early and hope we’re clicking come Feb-Mar next season. Somewhat opposite of this year where I expected to hit the ground running (and we did, but kind of faded in conference play).

Miller's level of competition isn't all that from games I've watched but he's so skilled which that should translate to the next level.

I like what I see out of the incoming class but I'm not putting any real expectations on any of them until I see them play major college games.

LEADERSHIP will be key!!

This. I’m tired of being disappointed. I thought Tchikou was going to be a star here.
It’s just the nature of recruiting I guess.
Of the five we have coming in, odds are at least one, maybe two, won’t be what you think they are.

Miller will and has faced high competition in playoffs. Tennesssee produces alot of talent, he is so skilled tho and it showed in AAU. Bradley can give us 10+ a night i think, but having JD back or someone from portal wont hurt

We are now 27 in the NET which is the lowest we've been all season.
