But if we can get that damn effort every game (asking for a lot there) and a normal shack performance to go along with everything else and thats a team that could do damage in the tourney.
This team has shown they are not capable of putting two performances together. The absolute ceiling is R32. The only damage we’re doing in March is to the brackets of people dumb enough to look at our non-conference wins and pick us to make a deep run.

We’re just not good enough to overcome a disappearing act from one of our top 3 guards. JQ has done it many times (UGA, AU, etc.), Ellis did it that one time he went 0-75 from 3 (think it was at Rupp but can’t remember), and Shack did it today. With Burnett hurt, Primo gone, and JD requiring more development, we don’t have the bench to overcome a black hole type disappearance and need them to be regular “bad games” to have a chance.

The good thing is they are all veterans and might be able to hit the reset button when tourney starts. It’s almost like a whole new season. If our 3 guards show up, we have a chance to win 2 in a row (but I realize it’s not probable).

Yes, JD has to be aware and he will accept it and learn from it.

maybe its his minutes going to 0 after several games where he was providing good depth. We need his length as a defender.

To say not everyone knew about the shot clock right there in front of your bench is the most inexcusable thing I think I’ve ever seen. Oats and staff need to fix a lot of shite internally in addition to all the external parts of reshaping the roster.

Oh man, that’s not good. Between that, Frenchie’s no show this year, and Gary’s disappearance (coupled with Primo and Burnett), we are very, very thin. I take back the winning 2 in a row, not sure we have the legs for that over a 3 day span.

And that explains a little more why Q was in for the last defensive possession in regulation. Although I still think I would go with Shack, Ellis, Miles, Gary, and Chuck/Gurley (or even Rojas if you think you need the switching). Q isn’t in the top 7 of defenders or rebounders. Glad Miles was up for the task on that possession.

Process some players (mainly some veterans)... problem solved! We need the right pieces to be a dominant team game in and game out but with this current roster we are not.

JD & Ellis needs to come back!

It’s the assistants job to let everyone know the shot clock because Oats was busy calling the play.

The assistants thought everyone knew but JD didnt

No excuse for a shot clock violation in crunch time. Sickening. Davison is a net liability for this team. Ball shouldn’t have been in his hands.

Who hands should it have been in then? Because as of right now you can't tell who's a freshman or not. The veterans play way worse then JD but hey maybe it's just me.

Miles scared to do anything offensively shoot all that athletic ability for no reason. (Not Physical At All)
Shack is still the same Shack I've always known.
JQ is hit or miss (Nova Style)
Ellis will turn it over as well
Gary has been a straight up no show
Rojas is just....whatever

This team has zero chemistry, no leadership.

But with the musical chairs lineups Oats uses, I understand why.

Why doesn't Bediako play more in 2nd half, why suddenly is Miles getting tons of pt and Holt none. James Rojas..great kid, plays hard.. He can't dunk and he's our big guy on the floor almost the entire 2nd half.

We turned the ball over 21 times today and took the same number of shots as LSU.

If you're any good, you beat LSU by 20 today..yet we manage to lose. We shot 40 3's... and turned down open layups to do it.

Oats needs to tweak his offense, hire a defensive coach and keep recruiting.

I'm tired of hearing "lack of effort". Sometimes lack of effort is the result of being unsure what to do. That's on Oats..period.

Glad we're in the tournament..

Maybe someone who’s head is in the game and realizes there’s only 4 seconds to shoot? I don’t know who that is but it sure as hell wasn’t JD.
