Yet, he barely played in our UCLA game.

Herb was 3rd in minutes behind Petty and Q in the UCLA game.

I'm hoping we can still get that #3/4 seed and a bye in the tourney. We aren't catching Ken/Aub.

This mid-week, we need:
Tuesday
A&M over Fla
Ken over Tenn
Miz over Ark
Wednesday
Ala over MSU
UGa over LSU

Some teams have tougher schedules than we do for sure.
Tenn still has > Ken, Ark x 2, Aub
Ark still has > Ken, Tenn x 2, LSU, @ Fla

We have a shot if we go 4-2. I'd say it's likely if we go 5-1.

Honestly just want to grind one out against State. Then Kentucky just becomes a play with absolutely no pressure and see what happens game.

What’s crazy is that this feels like a down year with Oats and we are still a 5 seed. I member when it came down to SEC T wins to make the tournament.

Suggestion: Shorten the two sticky basketball thread titles to fit on 1-line (phone display) by changing Alabama to Bama, Tide or UA.

Current:
Alabama Basketball | 16-9 (6-

Suggested:

Go from 10% shooting the 3 to just 30% shooting the 3, and figure out the metrics.
It's not to "live and die by the 3" exactly, but making a higher % sure does increase odds of winning.
Same with free throws.
Not gonna find too many games where Alabama shoots sub 20% from 3 and makes only 50% of FTs and they win.
On the same token, you won't find many games where Alabama shoots 50% from 3 and 90% from the FT line and they lose.

It only feels that way to me because of a couple of gross losses. If you told me 20 wins and beating Gonzaga, Houston and Baylor then I wouldn't say it's a down year. It would've been nice to split Auburn but yeah I think the UGA and Missouri performances have us looking more down than we should.

This is also only Oats' 3rd year. If he stays at Bama, this program can really take off. Especially with the new arena coming.

I don’t think we lose Oats, but I do think Hodgson leaves for a HC spot in a few years. Maybe back to Buffalo or something.

Couple of teams in Bama’s seed range have tough games today. I’m so used to feverishly watching bubble teams so this is my substitute

5:30CT: #19 Michigan State (-2.5) at Penn State

6:00CT: #20 Texas (-1) @ Oklahoma

8:00CT: #15 Wisconsin (+3.5) @ Indiana

8:00CT: #4 Kentucky @ #16 Tennessee (-1.5)

Unless there’s been unannounced changes, Alabama’s non-conference 2022-23 basketball schedule also includes playing Gonzaga in Birmingham, playing at Houston and hosting Memphis. Also have a scheduled trip to South Alabama.

So theoretically we could end up playing Gonzaga twice next year…
