You know what would be really cool? If our shooters started making some 3PTs again
Since Houston Game (4 games)
- Juwan Gary : 4/8 (50%) (career 23%)
- Keon Ellis : 11/33 (33%) (career 37%)
- Jahvon Quinerly : 7/25 (28%) (career 35%)
- Noah Gurley : 3/12 (25%) (career 34%)
- Jaden Shackelford : 7/30 (23%) (career 36%)
- JD Davison : 0/7 (0%) (career 29%)
Total : 32/115 (27.8%) (career 34.9%)
If we shoot our career averages over the last 4 games we average an extra 6 points per game. Be nice to get over this little slump tonight.

Yeah, I brought this up a few weeks ago:
quote:
Our 4 game offensive slump is directly related to the shooting of the threesome of Quinerly, Shackelford, and Ellis.
In the 9 games through the Houston game, the trio combined to shoot 38% from 3 (63/166) and score 45.4 points per game.
In the 4 games since (Memphis, JSU, Davidson, Tennessee), the trio has combined to shoot 28.4% from 3 (25/88) and score 39.25 points per game.
On offense, as they go, we go.

There is always stuff to clean up, but it's hard to win when your 3 main outside shooters are all slumping at the same time.
Luckily it won't last forever and we found a way to win the Tennessee game.

I think we dominate Florida tonight. We are due for a good game after so many flat ones.

Oats said yesterday that they were shooting better in practice. I guess we’ll see tonight.

He said Gurley was practicing great and then we got a great effort so I choose to believe we will score 103 pts tonight.

And truth be told, our offensive slump has really just boiled down to Shackelford being cold.
First 9 games v. Last 4 games
Shackelford: 19.1 ppg / 10.5 ppg (down 8.6 ppg)
Quinerly: 15.1 ppg / 14.5 ppg (down 0.6 ppg)
Ellis: 11.2 ppg / 14.3 ppg (up 3.0 ppg)

20 out of the last 22 in the SEC. (I'm assuming we've never done that before in our history?).
That's insane. Let's keep that rollin'.

Everybody good to go for Bama and Florida tonight as far as we know?
Would love to steal two road wins and then go in to big home game against Auburn with a 3-0 conference record.
Tonight Castleton looks like the main problem for Bama in terms of scoring, rebounding and shot blocks. Need a big game from our "bigs" (i.e., Bediako and then the other guys who we are pretending are bigs -

Florida's Myreon Jones (COVID protocols) is expected to play tonight against Alabama, per a school spokesman. Averages 9.5 PPG. Hasn't played since 12/18.

If we win tonight I’m back on board believing we can win the conference and get a high Seed. Right now I still think we are a 5-7 seed

Will be interesting to see if Miles gets out of the doghouse and onto the court tonight. He is actually one of our best 5 in terms of virtually every advanced metric.
4th in Offensive Efficiency
4th in Defensive Efficiency
4th in Win Shares per 40
3rd in Plus/Minus

Surprised Gurley didn’t get the nod over one of Gary or Bediako after his last outing.
Would have expected Oats to shake up the rotation a little given the 4 game skid.
