Oh wow that’s higher than I thought… hmm I’m not sure. It will take care of itself if we beat Houston and Memphis. Also Colorado State is undefeated so far.

So we're 6-1 in Q1/2 games against the toughest SOS in the country and that translates to 15th? This really makes me question NET to be honest.

Big takeaway from the NET ranking has to be that both the SEC and Big 12 have 9 teams in the Top-75 of the NET. That number is significant because most every road game in those leagues will be a quadrant one game.

Starting this season, the metric will slim down to just two components, rather than the previous five. The two remaining components are an adjusted net efficiency rating and the Team Value Index (TVI), which is a result-based feature that rewards teams for beating quality opponents, particularly away from home. Win percentage, adjusted win percentage and scoring margin are no longer used in the NET rankings.

This is why the NET rankings look a little different than expected.

KenPom - #9
Torvik - #8
Torvik (no-preseason info) - #9
ESPN BPI - #18

So maybe they just used BPI

ESPN SOR - #12
Torvik WAB - #3
ELO - #5

We arguably have the best one of these in the entire country to this point.

Yea, it doesn't really matter right now, but I'm pretty confused

Yeah, it still seems a bit wonky, but it's early. Just win, baby.

Wouldn't miss it. Will need a Red Bull for the drive home though.

That's brave to drive back afterwards. Definitely getting a room for the night so I can enjoy Houndstooth for a bit after the game.

Gonzaga loses 2 of 3 and plays a clunker against Tarleton State (who??) and only drops 2 spots. Wow.

I didn’t expect them to drop out of the rankings or anything, but from what I’ve seen, they’re talented but vulnerable this year.

They just need to figure out their rotations from what I saw. The talent is definitely there. I don't think Few knows how to use Holmgren just yet either, which is causing them some issues because I'm not sure he and Timme belong on the floor together. On offense it's fine because Holmgren can play like a wing, but defensively it limits them on the perimeter which is something we took huge advantage of.

BPI lowballs us every year relative to the other ratings. The memory is burned into my brain after years of bubble riding. It might be that way across the board for the SEC but Im not sure

The thing that is really screwing us in NET is that Gonzaga was technically a neural site game. Not a road game.

Seattle is 280 miles from Spokane and still in-state for Gonzaga.

It's 2,500 miles from Tuscaloosa.

We all know it was actually a road game. But alas, it was "neutral" as far as NET, BPI, KenPom, etc. go.
