La Tech is also 4-1, South Dakota St. is 6-2, etc… we have played good teams. Needed to beat Iona though and we would have probably won the tourney. Doesn’t matter though, gotta worry about Miami now.

The only reason I was pissed about the Iona loss was because I wanted to see what could do against a known commodity in Kansas. Now that they’ve shite the bed against Anthony Grant, it wouldn’t have mattered to me if we played Dayton or Miami on Sunday.

Now, a 20 point win against AG would have been a nice cap to the week, but somewhat meaningless in terms of success for this season. Also, a loss to an AG led Dayton team would have been equally or more maddening than the WKU loss to Stans last season.

Is Gonzaga a big enough known commodity?

I guess I should have prefaced that a little better by saying I wanted to see how we looked against elite talent BEFORE our murderer’s row stretch over the next two weeks. We’ve played some good teams, but needles to say, the next three games after Orlando are going to be a different level of competition. More speed, athleticism, and just flat out better players than we’ve seen so far… I don’t know that another game against a “good” mid major or average ACC team is going to prepare us for those situations like a game against Kansas would have.

That's a great bounce back win for us. I'm glad to see JD being aggressive even though he had a lot of turnovers in the first half. Stay aggressive JD! He will eventually learn when to be aggressive and when not to be aggressive.

Yep. Need him to continue to develop throughout the season.

Iona now has to beat Kansas to avoid going 1-2. Not exactly a fair draw after upsetting the #10 team in game 1. Hope they are at least competitive on Sunday.

Belmont vs Dayton for the tournament title. Who would have guessed that?

I see ISU putting that work on Memphis. That happens when your hc is a midwest boy vs. a deep south aau coach.

Gonzaga’s looking quite human right now.

Also Paolo Banchero, my Lord

I’d still take Chet with the first pick.

0-18 big 12
2-22 overall last season.
Just blew out #9 Memphis.
Now 6-0 this season.

Memphis is a disaster on offense. There is zero plan or actual offense in place. The only reason their defense is any good is because it’s a bunch of insane athletes and they are just able to switch everything and pressure like crazy. Penny might be the worst actual coach in the country.

It will be interesting to see how this loss looks in a month or so, iowa state just ran another top 25 team off the court yesterday too.
