Do y’all like Rothsteins schtick? Tweets like these are kinda weird

Just got a call from a family member about Thanksgiving next week. My biggest thought during the conversation? I hope dessert doesn't conflict with Alabama/Iona.

His Twitter shtick is now being a parody account of himself almost. The only time i've ever listened to him are the interviews he's done with Oats, but I felt like he wasn't bad as a podcast interviewer. Just too damn corny on Twitter.

I missed the game. How is Oakland as a team?

We went tonight and there's nothing better than ball in person.

We looked great, too.

Was this a night where we were hitting our 3s or just an all around good scrappy night? I’m assuming the defense was better or are they just a weak offensive team?

It was just all around good play. I haven't seen the stats, but I think we were pretty average (for bama) from three.

10-36 (27.8%) from 3. We were good everywhere else so that didn’t matter tonight.

If Gurley can start making some 3s, we could be really really good. It was great to have Davison be aggressive and knock down a couple open shots as well

Their calling card's a 1-3-1 zone with a couple of pretty athletic guys up top. Talent is middling but experienced. Their offense wasn't great, even Grant-esque. Mainly one guy that was very good who had around 30 points (on a ton of shots) but the rest seemed pretty outmatched by anyone we had defending them.

Their zone defense gave good Oklahoma St and West Virginia teams fits -- they won @ Ok St and went to the wire @ West Virginia.

I was very impressed with how easily we handled it. They're really the type team that pre-Oats we struggle with just like Ok St and West Va did and it's a tossup 58-56 type slug fest.

We consistently made the extra pass and drove successfully when the zone shifted. Q, Shack and JD were all very sharp breaking it down. Really should have blown the game wide open a lot earlier but we missed a lot of open 3pt shots in the 1st half. However, we were pretty textbook on how to beat a zone otherwise with quick, smart ball movement and crashing the boards.

Sir, that is a hell of game summary.

ETA: please do that right after every game rest of season.

I’m happy we played well. Couldn’t see the game. Doing that without our best board cleaner is pretty impressive too.

I don’t mind it too much personally. He just kind of plays a dorky “goober” persona on twitter, but still has solid insight. His podcast is good and you can tell he watches a ton of basketball, so he is well informed. He also isn’t weird in person, so if that’s his twitter schtick it’s fine with me. To each their own.

Saw Tchikou’s name in the boxscore. Did he do anything to live up to his hype?

He came in a few minutes before the walk-ons, and I'd say he looked the part of a skilled, athletic big. He's definitely got the talent, but he's in the doghouse on an extremely deep roster.
