I am not going to bury Oats at all here, hard to do much when 2/5ths of your starting 5 wont play defense.
Next year will say a lot.
Back 2 Back years in the tournament, was not long ago I would have begged for that.
However we are definitely way down from last year

If anyone had told me going into the season how bad JD would be, I wouldn’t have been surprised by this season.
Not enough guys who can create.
Shack can create but misses too many layups. Ellis seems to top out as a 3 and D guy. Burnett hurt. Q hurt. There’s no one to go to.

On a positive note... I'd seen this team play too much to put them past the round of 32 in my work bracket. I did think we'd squeeze this one out...oh well.

We will see what Oats is made of this off-season.
He'll either be disgusted with this year and go to hell and back and figure out what went wrong and how to fix it or he'll stubbornly insist it was bad fits with players and there isn't a need to change anything.
If it's #1 we have a chance. I honestly don't have a good feel for which direction he'll go.
