I mean this was a Gottfried team. At every level. It brought out every Gottfried team emotion all season long.

The players are garbage and lack any basketball IQ.
It is Oats and staff responsibility to make them better players and teach them to get better. They have been terrible at their job this year.
What percentage of blame could be debated, but I’ve seen good coaches change players from crap into good players.
Wimp Sanderson was one of the best at turning mediocre role players into All Sec performers.
Wimp isn’t coming back, but a coach who can do that would be better than a coach who doesn’t seem to be able to teach fundamentals of ball control to his point guards.
It is Oats and staff responsibility to make them better players and teach them to get better. They have been terrible at their job this year.

I think we could be more creative defensively but this was a horrid defensive roster. I mean absolutely fvckin horrid.

Oats seems like an extremely egotistical guy. I’m hopeful he puts that to the side to make the necessary adjustments schematically and maybe even staff wise, but I’m not sure he will. The best learn to adjust and he hasn’t show the ability or want to do that yet.

Gary has regressed. Not sure how that happens or if that is indicative of coaching

I think Gary is a role player who was fitted perfectly last year and this year, with all our issues, never really figured out his role or how to play it.
Honestly I think we had a bunch of that.

Look at next year with some damn common sense?? Kentucky , arkansas, and us are the clear favorites. Everyone else has more uncertainty than we do. Pieces didnt fit this year and i see a whole lot of names on here that i dont recognize trashing oats . He's rebuilt this program ahead of schedule. Already has reached out in the portal to a couple guys that we could use.

That’s kind of the bottom line. Does a single player on the roster look better today than he did at the start of the season? Not a single one, IMO. Several actually look worse.

Yea, it's a toss up how this goes.
I do think he knows what he wants his roster to look like physically and will not allow a roster makeup season like this to ever happen again.

Quinerly getting hurt and Bediako in foul trouble is why we lost. 78 points is actually a decent showing defensively for this group

You’re probably right. He’s limited talent wise and athletically. I believe I put too much faith in him due to his effort last season
