Yea, they are sorting thru the NCAA stuff because Preston Murphy should be the guy if everything is over in June or July.

He's probably got somebody that we haven't heard about but if everything falls thru...look to Mo & Sam!

So if the Stevenson thing doesn't work what on earth are we gonna do at the 4?

Hope that Walters and/or Dioubate are ready to play 15+ minutes from day 1 and run a lot of smaller lineups that get wrecked on defense like a couple of years ago. So really the same thing we'd be doing with Stevenson for lower rated, but older, prospects. We're fricked at that spot unless a freshman steps up, regardless of which one it is.

I really don't think anyone anticipated Clowney being a borderline lottery prospect after one year and it kinda threw off recruiting. I doubt either of Walters or Dioubate was recruited to fill a role like Clowney’s and all the kids we have been connected to who would are class of 2024.

Play no frontcourt defense after Pringle fouls out, insert some scoring machines in their place, and proceed to win every game 105-95?

We will play a five guard lineup and the rule will be not only can you not shoot midrange jumpers, you can’t shoot 2s period.

Nate Oats said Charles Bediako decision to stay in the draft "surprised us a little bit with the feedback we got."

Oats continued on Bediako: "When you don’t really pursue bigs in the portal because you anticipate it, well now you’ve got to figure out another option. That’s kind of where we’re at. We love Charles. We wish him the best and all that. Now we’re looking for some bigs."

Just bad preparation all around. Bediako leaving screwed us.

Grant Nelson, who put his name in the portal and also went through the NBA Draft process, will withdraw from the draft and focus on finding a new school, source told @Stadium.

The 6-foot-11 Nelson averaged 17.9 points and 9.3 rebounds for North Dakota State last season.

Huge for somebody. Just hope it’s not Arkansas.

We've reached out though. We'll see if he gives us a look.

Nelson would be a really good fit, but I just can't imagine a tall white kid from North Dakota ending up anywhere but Gonzaga if Gonzaga is an option, which they surely will be. Apparently his draft feedback was "we need to see you shoot more" though, and if that is his primary motivation in looking for a new school we will have a chance.

Thinking about it we didn’t have much size inside in 21 when we won the SEC. I think Reese and Bruner were only 6’8ish

Now that team had a once in a lifetime defender that covered it up IMO.

Also, underappreciated in that scenario was Petty's (later) ability to stay disciplined, which further allowed Herb to rotate off and guard any position on the floor.

That team had Herb, Petty and Ellis, who were all elite at their specific roles alongside eachother as #1 defender, #2 defender and #3 defender on the perimeter. Remember the next year how much worse Ellis looked in comparison defensively when he he thrown into the Herb role.

I see a lot of average defenders on the current roster. Hopefully Griffen develops on that end and the transfers are able to hold their own.

TIFWIW couple guys on TI indicate we are a legit contender for Nelson. One indicated Udeh is a legit possibility. They didn’t predict anything. Just passing along something I read.
