I was worried about JD going into summer league, but I think he is going to be ok. Both he and Keon have done better than I thought they would. But what was Shack thinking? At least he should have stayed or transferred and gotten a degree he could use sooner than he might expect. He’ll always have the Battle in Seattle to tell his children about though.

Shack will make money playing basketball. Don't be silly.

JD is having a ROUGH summer league.

COMPLETELY FALSE.

He's been struggling to SCORE that's it!

This article speaks on it.

That's all I was saying!

The level of pro ball he'll be playing at won't pay much for long. There's a reason Trevor Releford works in Real Estate now.

I always find it funny in the off-season. There either like 3 posts in a week, or 2-3 pages in a couple hours that's full of people raising hell at each other.

Shackelford's summer league high in minutes and points.

I don’t think we’ll know until October or November but folks on here would get dibs on any extras I might have. I requested a lot for the company I work for and I doubt we have that many Bama basketball fans.

We will if Oats gets to a final four. Then every FOG will be out there, talking about how much better Nate Oates is than Avery Johnston or Anthony Gant.

And would give you a blank stare if you mentioned CM Newton or Wimp Sanderson.

Right. I’m not trying to knock Shack. He lead us in scoring a couple years. I just wish he had gotten a degree like Releford, Keon, JQ, Petty, Herb, and others in recent years who do then have a bankable qualification. Hope he has a blast playing the game he loves in the US or abroad. Hope he will finish that degree though.

Spending your 20s playing basketball in Europe doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world. How'd y'all spend your 20s?

Going to school and learning the skills to open my own business. Now I'm in my mid 30s and can do whatever I want.

The point isn't that it's a bad way to spend your 20s. The point is that the vast majority of overseas guys will have to have a second career in life in which case it's nice to have a finished degree to work with.

NBA Players can make their millions and basically retire from work in their 30s unless they're totally irresponsible with their money. Those that don't want to live the retirement life can use their NBA experience to pivot to another high-paying, basketball-related position. They can also start investing their money or use it to open their own business. It's kind of hard to do those things if you're making regular money in your limited professional window.

I'm not going to lie. I'm pretty excited.

Every year. Love tide hoops.

want to see the final four before I die. I try and walk and drink a lot of water. I'm doing my part.
