Miller will the 2nd highest drafted player in Alabama basketball history behind McDyess if he goes 3rd as currently projected.

Leon Douglass went #4 in 1976.

The funny thing is if he was last year's class, I think he goes #1. He's a #1 overall level prospect that unfortunately has 2 prospects that would have gone #1 in the past 3 classes, one of which probably would have gone #1 overall in any previous NBA draft.

Field of 68 had a segment today called “Kentucky should hire Nate Oats!”

I think we win but if we do lose we shouldnt drop far at all, maybe drop to the number 2nd overall seed and 3rd in the AP.

If Tennessee wins however they will be #1
In all polls.

They desperately want KY or any other blueblood to yank Oats out of Ttown.
They can't handle the TIDE being a basketball power as well.

Seriously if we get the Arena there is no reason to leave. Football makes a shite ton of money and Basketball will make even more than it already is once the new arena gets built.

Also he can go down as the GOAT at Bama all while never having to deal with the boosters because the football coach will always be the one that does that.

But we HAVE to start on the Arena ASAP or he will get frustrated and leave

Watching the Bama v Barn highlights right now

And watching Rylan Griffen hit the stop on a dime, between the leg dribble step back 3 against Wendell Green guarding him is a thing of beauty

Ive watched it at least 10 times that exact play and might watch it 100 more. He also doesn’t look anything like the deer in the headlights that he used to look like when dribbling the ball now compared to earlier in the year

Just to play Devils advocate, if he was ranked #1 at kentucky and went out to a local restaurant for a hey coach type segment, there would be a lot more than 3 or 4 fans there like there were last night at Baumhowers

He would be treated like rockstar at a Bball school, similarly to how Saban is treated here. Aside from that I agree with you and I'm not sure that's something he cares about or not.

He has said before that he talked to Billy Donovan before he took the job and Billy told him if he went back to College he would wanna be at a football school so he didn’t have to deal with boosters. And Nate said he just wants to focus on basketball

Yep. They'll even pack out bue blood madness in October or any exhibition game at Rupp.
I was at the UF game last Wednesday. Looking up at the ceiling tells you just how old the airport hangar is.
This great season is providing momentum to get the arena built.

I do think that you reach a point where you realize you can win everything you want where you are. You are able to get the players you want, you are able to play the games you want, etc. And he's there at Alabama. The arena is clearly a big thing, but outside of that he's proven to himself and everyone that he can do all the things necessary to compete at the highest level here and the administration has proven they'll give him whatever he needs (recruiting budget, big games, support, NIL, etc). So, if he can do that, love life and not deal with stuff he might have to at a bigger place basketball wise....not to mention not have to start over in his process.....why are you gonna leave?

The only thing that upsets that apple cart is if he, personally, just has a burning desire to do it at one of those pillars of the sport programs. And if so, there's literally nothing we can do about that. It is what it is. I don't see that from all we've read and heard, but that doesn't mean it isn't simmering inside him somewhere. But it isn't worth worrying about because it's an outside factor that Alabama can't do anything about.

Catching up on the thread and just a couple points:

1. We’re overthinking recruiting. If you have the talent you’ll find a way to play. A lot can happen every off-season so it’s hard to project rotations at the moment. A great problem for us to have.

2. Blue bloods will come calling but we have a ton of cash and a new arena on the way. Alabama loves winners. He’ll be treated like a rockstar regardless of location soon enough.

You’d think so, we don’t have an NBA team, we need something to do during bball season.

ETA: Once the FOGs see how fun making a final 4 and being in the championship hunt is theyll probably donate enough to build two arenas.

After losing by 57 to the TIDE, Vandy going for their 4th straight victory.
Up big as we speak.
Win would give them a 7-6 conference record.
