I really don’t like playing a desperate UT team on their home floor. But I trust this group and they can get the job done

Buddy tonight was supposed to be their "desperate" game.

Their defense has fallen off a cliff the last 4 weeks and they've been run ragged by the 2 teams that actually run good offense and can shoot a little (Vandy and Mizzou).

We seem to have shortened out rotation to 8 main Guys

Miller
Sears
Clowney
Bediako
Burnett
Quinerly
Griffen
Bradley

Got the most minutes today with Pringle playing about 4 minutes when we had foul trouble and Gurley playing under 5 minutes.

No. 3/3 Alabama Overpowers Auburn Down the Stretch in Impressive 77-69 Rivalry Victory

The Crimson Tide improves to 22-3 overall with the victory, matching program’s best-ever start

The No. 3/3 Alabama men's basketball team outscored Auburn 25-12 over the final 9:35 to take a 77-69 victory Saturday afternoon inside Neville Arena. The Crimson Tide trailed by five points with just over nine minutes remaining in the game before beginning the comeback which secured the team's second win on Auburn's home floor in the last three years.

With the victory, Alabama remains undefeated in Southeastern Conference play and improved to 12-0 which is just behind the 1955-56 program-best 14-0 record in league play. Additionally, the Crimson Tide is now 22-3 on the season which matches the 1975-76 team for the best record in school history after 25 games played.

Freshman Rylan Griffen came off the bench to score a team-leading 16 points on 5-of-7 shots from the field and 3-of-4 from deep. Mark Sears had 15 points and six boards while Brandon Miller (13) and Jaden Bradley (12) also reached double digits in the win.

Wendell Green led Auburn (17-8, 7-5 SEC) with a game-high 24 points while Jaylin Williams added 16 in the losing effort.

HEAD COACH NATE OATS POSTGAME COMMENTS
"That is a big win, they (Auburn) played hard and were ready to go. Coach Pearl had them ready to go and their gameplan was good early and they did a great job on Brandon (Miller), but I thought we had different guys step up and I thought some of our younger guys played well. I thought Jaden Bradley played really well, Rylan Griffen was huge, hit some big shots and made some free throws when we needed them. I thought our guys

In hindsight, going to Starkvegas for our SEC opener was a blessing. I certainly wouldn't want to have to now.

Arkansas looks terrible. The key to beating them is make them shoot threes and play defense without fouling, you do that they have no shot.

The SEC tournamnet is going to be interesting. I expect us to make the Championship game….but I could see any of 7 or 8 other teams being our opponent

I'll be honest - I want to win every game we play and I'd love to win the SECT, but I won't be upset at all if/when we lose.

Full focus on finishing the regular season strong, winning a title and then locking in on a NCAAT run.

Wait a second….Jimmy Dykes told me Nick Smith coming back would change everything with Arkansas and make them elite again.

I'd be surprised if Mizzou wins this game with the way it's being called.

Also, Vescovi flops so blatantly it would make a Brazilian soccer player think twice. South Americans really shouldn't be allowed to play any other sport.

Quinerly has been playing good basketball for a while now, but when he’s off you just know immediately.

Yep. Oats has gotten very good at knowing when to play him, and when to pull him. Because he never plays just average.
