So many good players on this team. I've been high on Griffen since he signed, but he is really coming into his own now. Sears might be our second most valuable player, which is more than I ever expected from him. I was just hoping he could be a solid backup PG until Bradley got his feet under him. Boy has he exceeded my expectations. Weapons all over the place. I think Chuck deserves a ton of credit for how he played today too.

Not just homerism, there isn’t a team we can’t beat out there. Basketball is the toughest though. Excited for March.

Yeah this is totally false. Alabama had a horrible day shooting behind the arc, were physically roughed up from the start in an extremely hostile environment and pulled out the win by 8 points.
I think the difference was Bama puts 10 high quality players on the floor to AU’s 7 or 8. The physicality of the game, by AU’s design, saw AU worn out in the final minutes of the game.
I think it also shows how this team has improved and would probably would have lost this game earlier in the season.

It’s true but basketball is a sport where Oklahoma can run you out of the arena. Gotta keep your head on a swivel in b-ball. That’s why the tourney is so exciting. The ball can bounce funny and inferior teams win.

This team is special because it’s a 1-10 team. It’s the most talented team from the starters to the bench during my lifetime.

Yes sir. Also because players like JQ who had a shitty day will not put his down tomorrow at practice. He'll be ready to go and we'll need him later. That's hard to do for a guy that expects more out of himself than we do.

Vols gonna get it.

Would our second unit + 5 average P-6 bench players make the tournament?

JQ
Griffen
Burnett
Gurley
Pringle

I mean, that's certainly a bubble team at worst.

I think a lot would depend on what the bench makeup was like, but yeah I think our backups would be a really competitive team. Not great or anything, but they'd probably finish middle of the pack in the SEC. This is easily the deepest team I can ever remember us having.

Losing 5 of 6 is rough. Hate it.

They are inching closer and closer to the NIT. You hate to see it, but more than that you love to see it.
