I’d feel better about these next 3 games if Welch was healthier and/or we had Burnett. Just remember that we will be better in March than we will be these next couple of weeks. Quinerly and Welch will be healthier, Nimari will be back. I am sure the fanbase wont freak out and overreact tomorrow if we lose, that wouldn't be like us at all.

With that being said I think we win tomorrow unless they get lucky.

Predictions on the score tomorrow? I think we win but don’t cover. I have no idea what the final score will be. I could see it being in the 60s or 80s but I think it’ll be close.

The point spread is 5.5. We could cover with a 6 point win and it still be close. It could be a 1 point game with a minute to go and we could still cover.
Basketball games are more nerve wracking to me than are football games.

Unless they shoot materially above their season average from 3 while we double Oscar (or if we haven’t learned to double team a truly great post player…MSU was a bit of a warm up for this one), then I think we win by 8-12. If they shoot 40% from 3, we could be in trouble.

Our bigs have to be the aggressor when they are guarding Oscar. We got destroyed by Timme because we wasn't aggressive before the post up or after.

We don't need to double all the time because Kentucky has some decent shooters.

Bad news, they're shooting 39% from 3 on the year. Not far to go to get to 40%.

Game day, beaches!

Ran into JQ at Depalmas last night. My UK buddy ran up to him and asked him what the plan was to stop UK. He talked for a little bit and was very nice.

To me a new arena signals that Alabama wants to be an elite basketball program and is serious about getting there though. Yes it's mostly perception, but perception isn't something you can totally dismiss either. It matters. It's the difference between staying in the "good not great" tier of programs and moving into the "great but not a blue blood" tier of programs, which is where I think we all want to end up.

Good points. I hope we get one as sort of a reward for what Oats is building and where the program could be in a few years. Very exciting times ahead.

Also just bought tickets for the game today, excited to finally make it down for my first game of the season. I should be pretty close to the Bama tunnel. Can't wait to leave the arena with no voice.

Apparently I know nothing about how Kentucky has played (only watched them twice this year). How you lose 4 games against their schedule with Oscar and shooting 39% from 3 is baffling! Either they are very, very inconsistent on the shooting (one night shoot 30% and the next night 50%), or there are other underlying issues like turnovers and defense (seemed like they were fine defensively from what I’ve seen, so must be something else on offense).

NIL first. New arena with no good players won't be very exciting.

We're 11th in the country in perimeter defense entering today. As long as that holds up and we can battle on the boards we should be alright on the defensive end. I feel confident Bediako/Pringle can frustrate and slow down Oscar just enough.

I really hope this is Welch's coming out party, on the Oats show this week it was mentioned he was entering the season as a starter. Would be huge for him to get that shot dropping today.

Note: Kentucky is 202nd in perimeter defense.

I think this will be Welch's breakout game offensively but too me his DEFENSE will overshadow it today. I see why Coach Oats wanted him.

Anybody else having to watch the game on their phone while at their kid’s basketball game? I already skipped one game to go to the Gonzaga game, so anymore would put me in the horrible dad category. For those going, be loud and pull us through!!
