If our team last year could somehow play against our team this year, I think this years team would win the rebounding margin by double. Houston had 21 offensive boards last year, cutting that down to 10-12 should be doable I think/hope.

I'm less concerned about the defensive rebounding than I am about the offense. UConn basically took away the 3-point line and our offense devolved into Miller and JQ iso ball, where they went 2/9 and 1/4 from 2PT range, respectively.

Tomorrow’s the kind of game I wish and would love to have Juwan Gary for

Maybe, but I'm not trading Clowney for him.

We can keep it close if rebound and cut out all the stupid turnovers

The first 5-10 minutes will be very telling. If they come out bombing threes we’re boned. If they’re playing tight and letting their emotions get the best of them, we’ll have a chance to win in the end

I’m not saying I’d trade him either

Just saying tomorrow’s the kind of games he always thrived in

Dude was a bulldog. Hope our team brings that same energy tomorrow

College basketball power rankings: Houston hosts historic top-10 matchup vs. Alabama; UConn climbs to No. 2 (CBS Sports)

The Cougars always impress under coach Kelvin Sampson, but Saturday's upcoming tilt has a high-stakes feel

So this is their first Top Ten matchup since 1966??
That is crazy. Now I kinda understand the frenzy around this game for Houston.

Is anyone else rewatching last year's game in preparation for this one?

Davison's block at the end never looked like a goal tend. I understand Houston thought initially so, but they shouldn't still be whining about it a year later

I agree. That might have been the best all-around game that Davison played here.

If we do these 2 things tommorow we WILL win.

1. Rebound their misses. They killed us on the offensive glass last year.

2. Take care of the basketball

I think there's a chance Welch plays tomorrow.

Gamedaaaayyyyy Boys!!!!

We just got to bring it and give MAX EFFORT.

Houston may come out on fire but we can't be discouraged by that shoot we got to play the entire game.

I'm excited for this one...ROLL TIDE

Time for our boys to grow up!

We will see very quickly if we have made progress from the UConn game, as I expect it to be a similarly physical game. We have a “puncher’s chance” in this one, but it’s asking a lot to send freshman on the road to a veteran #1 team looking for revenge.

Play hard, take the fight to them, and hold your head high no matter the outcome because we have 2 more big games right around the corner. Roll Tide!

Oddly enough, after that big Houston win last year is when things went downhill. Won three straight over Miami, Gonzaga, and Houston and never really got anything else going the rest of the season.

You may be correct, based on a couple retweets. I still don't expect huge things from him though, especially his first few games back. Depth is good though.
